SHC, on the second-half momentum of a 27-4 run, beat St. Ignatius 53-50. Irish had a 51-41 lead in the 4th.

Like someone else had posted in a different thread, could it be some CCS teams are tanking to avoid NorCal Open? Curious.

As good as Cats have been, they have never matched up well with SHC. SHC exposes SI's lack of team speed and forces perimeter players to rush shots. SI will do as well as until they play the SMS/SHCs of the world. Again, close but no cigar. TIme is running out for this group. They still have a chance; with senior leadership, they just might fight through, but it will be on the road.

Impossible....impossible these coaches would never do that
they are saints...they coach for USA teams....they have 20...
30 years experience...they are saints....

oh yeah that is what they told me
their integrity is beyond reproach....
gee it is getting quiet....

Well you said Pinewood threw their game last year. Now they best Eastside (with a coach that you love), yet no mention of Eastside tanking.

You are correct, it is getting quiet. Funny how you only disparage the coaches and programs you don't like, but when the coaches you like are in the same position, your silence becomes deafening. Hmmmmm

Eastside tanking are you crazy they play with 6 players....

So we came within a eyelash of a ESCP vs SHC Open final

amazing stuff

coach I love????
I said Donovan was a genius...
doesn't mean I love him...

I know some insane Powerlifting Coaches who are geniuses
they are absolutely nuts but they are genius because they
can get a 125 girl to bench 250lbs...
doesn't mean I love them them ...I just know they are
genius at what they can do....

SI is going to get pulled up anyways....

according to the "open " rules...a team in an open section that makes it to the semis still qualifies.

3 teams from the CCS....SHC, Pinewood and SI...

2-4 from the NCS.... Clet, Miramonte, possible Salesian and/or Smb...see what happens tomorrow.

1-3 from the SJS.... SMS, possible Modesto Christian and/or Brookside Christian

Jazz - you are really a complete idiot. The only silence we need is for you to stop posting your moronic bs. To think any of our Northern CA coaches would tank a game is ridiculous, but to think an SI team would ever, ever, ever intentionally lose to a SHC team is beyond impossible. NCP - please kick this bozo off the board.

That's true if SHC beats Pinewood in the Open CCS but if Pinewood wins eastside will be sent to the open. All I know seeding in the open is going to be crazy.

1) SMS
2) MM
3) Pinewood
4) Carondelet
5) Brookside
6) Salesian
7) SMB Or SHC
8) SMB Or ESCP

That's just a guess but everyone will know Sunday wont be nothing to say after the brackets come out.

I would absolutely include Vanden, and they deserve the consideration for sure, but from what I understand they don't meet the qualifications.

And this particular year with the MONSTER in Stockton, I doubt anyone petitions up...lol

SI and Eastside play the 3rd place game, so I don't think the result of the championship game will matter as much as you think. If Eastside upsets SI the Cats are likely out and only 2 CCS teams go in IMO. If SI gets by Eastside they are still in as the 3rd CCS team. The only way I think Eastside may be in is if they beat SI, Pinewood wins the CCS Open and BOD (who Eastside beat) upsets Miramonte in NCS D-III.

Vanden is a very good team. Athletic to say the least. However, I would assume they would prefer not to go to the open unless there is no choice. They played SMS to start the season in the real but not real pre-season game. I think it was 36 to 8 after 1. They were a bit shell shocked and it was game one so I would expect they play much better next time around.

From the SJS, Kimball, if finishes undefeated in beating Modesto Christian and winning SJS D2, which just beat Antelope (26-2) whose only other loss was a 5 point difference to Brookside Christian, may possibly have some consideration for NorCal Open along with St. Mary's and potentially Brookside Christian. No tanking happening in the SJS.

Ignorant. How many of you pin-headed tanking accusers were actually at any of the games you're accusing teams of tanking? Didn't think so. I was at both, and they were hard-fought, well-played games. Again, just ignorant.

Good job SHC beating SI because said all year speed with talent kills. SI is a very good half court team but when a team press and make then play full court with speed. That's not what they are good at all. Again good job SHC!!!!!!!!! I think SHC wins the open I called earlier and still think Mitty dump the game in the end. But that's my opion. I called before the open that SHC will win the Open CCS Championship. I will call this on too ESCP probably take 3rd in the open beat SI if they don't get into foul trouble.

Wrong - not good job SHC. SHC didn't win the game, SI dumped the game as they knew they couldn't matched up with SMS. SHC doesn't get any credit for the win. Right? Right? Can't have it both ways dude. You and Dave (Jazz) both pick and chose when to apply your *asinine conspiracy theories.

Mitty loses - they dump. SI loses - they dump. ESCP loses - their coach is a genius, he'd never dump. Pinewood loses - they dump..no wait, when they win a close one, they didn't dump..But if they lose to SHC, SHC is too fast..but then Dave says Pinewood dumps so they can win D5 in state.

Perhaps you and Dave need to get together, put on your tin foil hats and sort out this massive conspiracy so your stories match up.

*asinine: extremely or utterly foolish . 2. : of, relating to, or resembling an ass. -

For all the people saying SI should have tied the game, look at the Sportsfocus replay or SHCtv replay...I do know the feeling of losing and understand the frustration but the SI announcer KC Murphy even called out the shot was no good when he was announcing the game live!!!!

The buzzer clearly started to buzz before the shot went out of SI girls' hand. It was the right call.

Oh I didn't realize that was an issue for anyone. I was at the game, and the shot was clearly after the buzzer.

You all are funny with the conspiracy theories. I don't think any of these coaches are tanking games lol. What is happening is the teams that have got better over the season are starting to flourish and the ones that haven't are starting to show their true colors. You look at SHC who has lost to just about everyone in the open field in the pre-season now beating those very same teams. Realistically I think this is the only team that matches up with SMS. They have the athletic ability, guards and height to match up. Depending on the seeding this may be upset city!

GREAT JOB SHC! They went on a 27-4 run to take a 10 point lead. Not to mention they already beat SI early in the season and have beat SI 13 out of the last 15 times they played. Where's the tanking there? Fact is SI just doesn't match up with SHC and doesn't have the guards to handle the ball. SHC matches up in the post and has better guards. What happened to the WCAL player of the year? 14 points? Well Ashonti Coleman is what happened 24 and 14 rebounds and about 6 blocks. She is playing out of her mind right now as well as SHC being a well coached team
