SHC will play for the CCS D-III title vs. Aptos on Saturday, March 7th at Independence HS at 8:00pm.

Irish beat Mills 71-57. Mills made a lot of 3-balls to keep it close. Irish still couldn't play defense. I didn't see the two frosh on the varsity but for this game, Darrell Barbour decided to start Romello Dunbar. For some reason Ramzi Carter, Jr., only played a few minutes in the first quarter and sat down the rest of the game. Alfred Hollins had 25 points and David Parsons had 20.

I watched streaming and my opinion hasn't changed. Its Parsons and Hollins. However in this game we got the Parsons that got his and made the passes to cutters for easy baskets. Hollins got his but he was tremendous on the defensive glass. If you get those two additional efforts out of those two, SH is going to be tough to beat (unless the other team has a big man i.e. Jesse Hunt, Solomon Young.

SH can play this way against PAL teams because their talent will ultimately be too much. But come Nor Cals and their weaknesses will be exposed. I guess a water down CCD D3 title will be nice to look at at the gym. Be interesting to see if Riordan and SH get put in the same side of the bracket.

I think he wanted the quicker guard play since Mills didn't seem that big. That 3 point guy on Mills was just ice. Romello Dunbar had a decent season defensively as a soph. but he really needs to work on his free throw shooting, I watched more than a few games and he misses a lot of his free throws.

Have to agree with Geary. DIII is watered down. The Open Division really opens up the other division for Non-Open-WCAL teams to find success (and that is what the section was hoping to avoid). Just look at SI last year. The Section is down overall this year. I am surprised with the succes of Serra but again agree with Geary, EB and Sac sections are much stronger this year.

Ramzi Carter actually started both halves as I recall. However as the game developed it was obvious that he was giving SHC nothing on either end and their best lineups last night were without him. I just don't know if the kid has Any willingness to compete or work ethic to push himself to get better. He was a non factor last night. Mills shot lights out from 3 point land and that's what kept them in the ball game. 21 for Mills was knocking them down.
A CCS title would be a good accomplishment for this team and would give them some momentum going into NorCals but they have to get it done on Saturday first.

Unfortunately, a bad case of alligator arms. Extremely tentative. Small hands for a big man. Would like to say he's only a sophmore, but based on his fundementals right now, not sure how much of a factor he will be next two years. Seems like a quiet kids who is not demanding the ball (ie want it). Teams in low post are leaving him alone as his hasnt proved as of yet to demand ball. I hope for the best.

I think they will. I wasn't too impressed with them or Burlingame as I caught the end of the fourth quarter of their game.
