SHC vs. Bellarmine on The Cube

[B said:
"iamgearyblvd[/B], post: 187984, member: 1806"]Game doesnt start until 730. stream wont be live until then.

I guess all the stream sites are different - NFHS usually shows game and time remaining before broadcast. The Riordan-VC game on BAOSN.TV appears to be the same as TheCube - schedule shows game, but site game window is dead with no activity 3 minutes before game time and no message that its upcoming [?].

Crusader Forum looking very nice on the BAOSN.TV broadcast. Crusaders lead at the half over VC 36-28.
BAOSN.TV

Bellarmine basically imposed their might. Doesnt appear to have any weaknesses. Good shooters, drivers, and everyone rebounds.

They must have had a bad internet connection. There was even a "Battery End" message on the screen. A recharger would help.

Riordan 73 VC 54 Final

Crusader perimeter game and team defense and speed prevail over towering Warriors. Tovar a non-factor. Soph Jelani Clark led the short-handed Crusaders with 22. Chun and jr. Justice Turner hit key 3's to maintain their lead throughout.

Nice win by the Crusaders. #5 for the Warriors had a nice first half with 15 points or so. Tovar was in a little foul trouble in the first half and never really got in a groove the second half. The difference in the game was Riordan knocking down timely 3's (Justice, Anthony) while the Warriors don't really have any shooters so when their bigs aren't getting it done they'll really struggle to score. Jelani's slashing game and James' mid-range game were working all night.

St. Francis showing they are the real deal beating the Padres in the Jungle. Logan Johnson impressive this week.

Haven't seen Serra play in a while and have been reading about how well they have been playing up at Marin, So I went to the SF Serra game. Logan Johnson was solid but he is all drive. struggles with his outside shot. # 11 for SF was nails from 3 point line and had a huge game. # 25, the football kid was very good as well getting into the lane.

Serra was ICE COLD. They missed a ton of open looks and I mean open looks.

Logan's drives sets up open shots for the Lancer sharpshooters. I know the Padres have been hit by injuries, did any of those players return tonight to play? Did SF zone D against Serra?

Yes that is true, but only number 11 was hitting 3's. He was on fire. Serra jumped out to a 18 to 10 lead getting easy baskets and then SF went to zone and Serra was ice cold from 3. A lot of those 3's were open looks too. I want to say Serra was 2 for 20 from 3's and the two they made were in the last 2minutes of the game. A buddy of mine who went to Riordan saw the SF- riordan game said the same about their game. He said they missed a lot of wide open shots. Looks like they were hitting tonight against Valley. Tuesday the padres travel to Riordan. should be a good game.

30 point win is hardly running it up. Cmon Irish.... We know you are hardcore SHC but that aint running anything up. The facts are Bellarmine bench kids have a right to play hard too but those guys are really good too.

This is an accurate summary of the game. SHC had opportunities to steal this one but it would have taken a total team effort, as 2 or 4 against 8 or 9 Studs is not a good recipe for a win. SHC was able to get Stubblefield in foul trouble and he played sparingly in the 2nd Q but SHC couldn’t capitalize on this because the other Bells players were able to play hard and keep the heat on. Hats off to the Bells who played a hell of a Team Game and their Bench didn’t let off the gas, as they hit all their shots which was impressive to watch and I respected their play as well. Key SHC players simply ran out of gas and other key guys never stepped up so there you have it. This loss should fuel SHC to dig deep as they played the top team in League so far.

The kid going to Siena has range when he steps in the gym. Bellarmine is just a very good team. They lost that greek kid last year who was a 4 year starter but they have Stubblefield and Wojeski which is huge. Bellarmine will make major noise in Norcals.

The Bells were deadly from 3. They rarely missed. I believe they hit like 7 or 8 3’s in a row in the first half.

Agreed. I was at the game and that Woj guy has NBA range right now. It wasnt just one or two guys hitting shots it was more like 5 guys stroking it. A few of those were fully contested. SHC played with them for the first quarter in a half despite the onslaught of threes. Second half Stubblefield was stepping out and hitting long jumpers and right then you knew it was over. Bells have the depth to make a run in Norcals. Despite the score i did like how the SHC players fought and played hard till the buzzer but Bells were just too much last night.

Where does stubble field translate at next level? High D2? If he was 6"6 or so I would say easily could play in WCC. I love his energy and how he is so versatile. Not saying he can't play D1 as it is because he is a unique talent.

Very good question. I would say he is a D1 talent in a D2 body. If he was freak of an athlete with a little more bounce then I would say D1 could be a possibility.

PAL95- Agree with you. He's a great HS player and I think will do awesome at a high D2. If he could shoot it a tad better I would say he could play D1. He dominates guys in the post 3-4 inches taller. I know somebody would love to a have a guy like that.

Does he still play football? I know his dad played in the NFL and a couple of years ago Stubblefield played football at VC.

There's that too. Now tell me why the CAN'T play defense.
In my opinion, it wasn’t that SHC played bad, Bellarmine was just better. Contested shots went in and the Bells were on fire. The article write-up that was written on the game was right on the money.

You mean USF?

Btw, sources tell me that the Bruce Mahoney game will be played at the New Chase Arena once it’s built in San Francisco. Sources tell me that the Golden State Warriors have alums from SI and SHC who sit on the Board of Directors.

Max Preps has it listed for AT&T at 2pm on Saturday, April 21st but I'll wait for the official schedule to come out. I've sent MaxPreps so many corrections, I should charge a fee.

Should keep it at USF. Chase Center is really out of the way. The 5000 fans in a 5000 seat gym sounds a lot better than 5000 at a 19,000 seat arena.

No-class Bells run it up 86-55.

I didn’t see it that way. The #22 kid probably doesn’t even play and it’s not his fault he couldn’t miss, not to mention SH pretty much let the Bellarmine kids go straight to the basket.

Seriously, Cheng is not ready. Let him get confidence playing JVs. I haven’t seen a 6’8 kid get so easily blocked like that in some time. Can’t fault the kid for trying a high percentage field goal.

USF is supposed to undergo major renovations next year so the Bruce Mahoney Game will move next year anyway I’m told.
