SHC vs. Riordan Streaming

I hope the Crusaders have everything locked up tight with security and video surveillance. They sure don't want a repeat of the "Irish Discount" incident when the Riordan frosh players had all their electronics and valuables stolen.

Crusaders grind out a win over SHC 52-49 on Senior Night. Stanford-bound senior Eric Galindo breaks the Riordan all-time 3 point record previously held by Ivan Dorsey. Crusader soph James Chun did not play and is still in a walking boot. Good to see the Crusaders spread the ball around and receive contributions throughout the 7 man rotation.

Rubbit5 was right. No tickets sold for frosh games.

Let me know when the Irish get a new coach. Not running plays isn't the players' fault, especially with this team's talent.

Surprised to see Hollins and Robinson barely get the ball after the Irish took a 5 point lead early in the 4th.

Thanks Irish cheers I was telling the truth all along about firosh games, no one in the WCAL charges except SHC. In the cheering section the Riordan students hang sign reading "thou shall not steal". Pretty fumny Scotty boy!

The coach puts to much stock on Robinson. The kids starts off hot but continues to shoot with no one down low to rebound. This puts the team on its heels trying to depend fast breaks. The coach needs to gets some plays and balance the offense and get hollins and hillman more involved. Hollins is doubled, create plays to free him up for easy shots. This team is good and needs some offense plays to slow them down. Too many turnovers and no offensive rebounds

Robinson started hot and cooled off severely. Hollins had a bad game by his standards and did not look like himself. The team struggled vs that zone that Riordan went to. Took way too long for adjustments on the court by the players. Hillman defended Stansberry well, made him work for his offense but got tired in 2nd half and it showed. Especially on 2 big occasions where he missed a layup underneath and then had a breakaway where he threw up a half hearted dunk attempt that he missed by a foot. Lose by 3 and those were 4 huge points that he missed. But ya fire Barbour cus it's all his fault. Let's see ball movement and player movement worked great the few times they attacked the zone with those principles. It's not the play that makes the player but the player who makes a play. Couple more Robinson shots go down, Hollins plays like his usual self and Hillman lays the ball up for 2 points on one of those 2 occasions and we are not even discussing this. Congrats to Galindo and to the Crusaders for winning a tough game on their senior night. Some fathers I swear are crazy and I don't mean the Serra Padres.

I saw that sign. Obviously Fool-face put it up. Some freshman fluteblower from the band probably had to spell it for him.

Also, I didn't say you weren't being truthful, I just thought schools charge for admission when there's a varsity event taking place.

What was all the commotion about? I noticed that while viewing the stream there was a stop in play and the players/crowd were all looking up at the visitor-side stands.

I saw that too. I looked around and didn't see anything happening. There was a security guard up there motioning back and forth with the scorer's table.

Someone threw ice onto the court if you are talking about at the end of the game with a crusader at the free throw line.

Earlier a certain certain aroma was coming from the upper stands and security was up and around trying to ascertain its origin.

I smelled it too. Then I figured out it was the odor of the Sacred Heart Cathedral football 22 consecutive league game losing streak.

You praise a football coach that hasn't won a single WCAL game in 3 years but you want the basketball coach with his record of success to be replaced?

There was a SHC fan throwing ice on to the court.

How much of it would you say is the coach's fault? If they're not running set plays or taking bad shots and showing bad judgement on dunks vs. layups, I say the problem is a lack of discipline and that's on the coach, especially this late in the season with the talent he has out there.

I went to St. Francis/Riordan Opener at Riordan..I paid $5.00 to get in. I arrived right after the Frosh game and the Jv's were on the court doing layups...Should Riordan charge on Jv games because they did? Interesting enough, on that game I sat by the snack stand...and there was a smell of "green vegetable matter" up there lingering for at least the first half quarter. Smelled like someone came in with that smell though, not someone smoking from the stands.

Scott when you say opener versus st Francis do you mean opening game of the season at Riordan ? Or the purple and gold frosh tournament?

i agree but Barbor is working with a young team one senior starting sophmore and sixth man freshman. trust me they are alot better now than earlier. last six games were lost in the final minutes because of imature mistakes. they just need a couple offensive plays to slow down the mistakes. trust me these guys will be good next year

Still talking about $5?!?! It's 5 dollars to potentially watch 3-4 games. The $5 goes back to the school anyway. It's your kid or family/friend's kid playing...go support!!
That's not the issue and I agree with everything you say, but that's not the issue. And in the interest of putting that issue to bed, I will not respond to it anymore.

Thank you Jaw Knee...I didn't feel bad paying at all. Tbh, how else is Riordan going to pay to make improvements in the Forum?...Btw, The Crusaders Forum didn't look bad at all. I wished they put all the crests of each school back up...Riordan always has their band going and everything...I wasn't complaining at all...great entertainment for $ 5.00. A couple of years ago, I would have paid even more just to watch the young Aaron Gordon, where else can you get that kind of entertainment for $5.00 or $8.00 bucks??.

Hey here's a play! Inbound the ball to Hollins, let him dribble it up court, let him go isolation top of the key and go to the basket. Thats pretty much what Riordan did the last 3 minutes. Let Stansberry just bring it up court and go to the basket. Don't know why this is too difficult to figure out plays that work.

Every good coaching staff looks at themselves first on what things they could have done better after any loss. So yes I think Barbour and his assistants would be the first ones to say we have to be better at... However at some point people have to look at the players. Forget the excuse of they are young. These are juniors for the most part. They are the ones on the court having to adjust and capitalize on the principles they are given to attack any defense in this case specifically a zone. Drive the gaps, flash into gaps, ball movement, screen the zone and so on. The biggest problem is they all want the ball in their hand and don't do enough of the other things. Also Riordan made just enough plays to win and SHC didn't.

So Hollins isolated against a 3-2 zone?

Let's be honest, any game Hollins just scores 7 points, SHC will lose. He had a bad night, he will bounce back. The other things people said were factors as well, but if their main man, couldn't get ten points last night, they were not winning.

See? It was FOOL-BO. Out there on the Sacred Heart side, throwing ice, smokin' dope and trying to blame it on Irish fans.
Two basketball games against SHCP. Away game results in one of their outstanding people with locker room access stealing all the valuables from the Riordan frosh team. Second game at Riordan, there are SHCP side fans smoking dope and throwing objects onto the court during the game. The post-game antics were also a treat. Just when you think they can't top their latest act.............Must be time for another racially insensitive themed "Welcome To Springtime" party.
