With the blowout wins by DLS and Rocklin over Folsom, I wonder how far Folsom will fall in the rankings. After DLS manhandled them, I was surprised they only fell to 8th, and were still ahead of St. Francis and DLS. I would assume that their loss to Rocklin should drop them from 8th to say 22nd? I mean, losing 71-17 in their last two games is embarrassing.

They are currently at #16. It usually takes until Monday or Tuesday for the Cal Preps ratings to settle in, but it won't change much between now and then:

Speaking of CalPreps ratings ......

Here are the top 5 rated leagues in CA right now:

1 Trinity (SS)
2 South Coast (SS)
3 Crestview (SS)
4 Sierra Foothill (SJS)
5 East Bay - Mountain (NCS)

FWIW the next highest rated NorCal leagues are the Tri-River (Central section) at 8 then the WCAL (CCS) at 14.

I believe the ratings have already settled.

Rocklin is sitting at #6.
St. Francis-Mountain View is 9.
DLS is 10.
Folsom is 15.

MaxPreps has Folsom #2 in the SJS. I think Joe D of the Bee has input with the MaxPreps rankings so it doesn't surprise me.

I think I'd have Central-Modesto and St. Mary's-Stockton ranked higher, even though I realize the Rams suffered an even worse loss to DLS. They both seem to be playing better football right now.

So is Jesuit, but they can't be justified with a 49-point head-to-head loss.

There are easily 22 teams in Ca. that would beat Folsom right now. EasyPeazy.

There are actually two things going on with the MaxPreps site. They are related, but not exactly the same.

There is this ranking list which is just the CalPreps ratings order. They even post the rating next to the team. Joe D. has no input regarding the CalPreps algorithm, as far as I know.

Then there is the Joe D. NorCal Top 25 rankings list for MaxPreps, but it's in the form of an article. He hasn't posted the updated list accounting for last Friday's games.

Folsom would have eaten Servite alive 9 out of the last 10 years.
Not sure what your point is... Bakersfield was the reigning state champion the 1920s. Although Folsom opened in 1922, they didn't even come close to challenging BHS. The last state championship game (until 2006) was in 1927, won once again by Bakersfield. If you (pasty et al) was a Drillers fan, we would still be hearing about it.

Well Patsy, If that is the case they should have scheduled Servite and not De La Salle, cause they are 0-5 against the best. And I assume you say 9 out of 10, being Servite would destroy Folsom this year. Go buy a Rocklin hat and sweater, and carry on

They tried. Twice.

Servite has never called back, opting for local competition.

I am hugely impressed with Rocklin but no way they rank that high in CA. Seems like the rankings try too hard to accommodate Norcal. Meaning there are so many teams in socal that, Imo, are easily top 10, I would say Serra, St. Francis, De La, Rocklin, Folsom etc are maybe 10-20.

I Definitely Think Rocklin at #6 is a little too high, but they are absolutely Top 10… I like their physical style of play, they can match up with SS Teams from the OC…. I think they would even match up well against Cen10….

I would also put DLS, SF and Serra in the top 10…. All those teams can beat MV and Have an equal shot at beating Cen10…. DLS would be 50/50 against Servite….

Folsom wouldn’t be competitive against any of the Top 10 as we just watched them lose 71-17 against 2 Real Top 10 Teams…. Those teams would be far to physical along the lines for Folsom to handle….

Here is My Top 10:

1.MD
2.SJB-Until Someone other then MD Beats them.
3. Servite
4. Cen10
5. DLS
6. MV
7, SF- They Beat DLS
8. Rocklin
9. Serra-SM
10. Norco or SDCC

You should be ashamed leaving Folsom off this list. They would beat Servite the last 9 out of 10 years per Potsy, and if St Francis beats Serra they would be above Serra, and Rocklin finally just beat them so Rocklin should be honorable mention. Just a thought, hahahahahaha.

I like OC's Top 10 list, except that I don't think MV's strength-of-schedule warrants a Top 10 spot at this point.

They'll have three straight chances to prove their worth though, starting this week. CalHi, then CVC, then SRV. All solid teams.

Right now, I'd think they're just off the Top 10, right in the same area with Folsom. Both of these certainly have a chance to get themselves up there as we head down the stretch...

Thanks Kiddman!!!…. To Clarify, My MV is Mission Viejo…. Monte Vista is having a Nice year and should be a Real Contender in NCS D1…. But in The State Top 10 would be a Stretch…. 🤣🍻

Folsom has played themselves off the list.
