Later on at 5:30, the varsity game will feature a pair of strong teams boasting spotless 6-0 records. SI is rated higher on MaxPreps, I suppose due to strengh-of-schedule.

Right now, it’s halftime of the freshman game, where SI scored the last 5 points to break a tie and go to the lockers up 24-19.

Kinnealy scores inside for SI, then Quanico steals, is fouled…. FT’s good. 26-18 SI.

Nice move across the paint by Bresnakar of Mira, fouled on the shot, FT’s split.

Squier for 3 from the top of the key for SI…. 35-29. 6:37 left, Kinnealy of SI gets his FOURTH foul…. and he comes out.

James Frye gets a bucket on a runout…. 35-32. Another foul on SI after a Bresnakar drive…. First FT rolls around up there for about six days and fals, 2nd one not. 35-33. SI turns it over traveling underneath…

Frye gets the ball in a scramble underneath, lays it up and is hacked! Time out, tied at 35. 5:14 left in the 3rd.

Terrific move by a spinning Conroy for 2…. 43-35. Mira calls a TO to stop the bleeding at 3:46.

Mira has the rock, realllllllyyyy needs to see one go in. Didn’t happen… and now two consecutive steals and layups for SI streatch it to 47-35, 2:14 left 3rd.

SI has put the clamps down on the defensive end… they get another stop, have the ball with a time out at 1:36, 47-35. Turnover out of the time out…. Oops.

MIra cranks the half-court pressure to 11…. Trapping everywhere, yet SI manages to make a nice cross-the-key pass to get a layup ahead of the buzzer. 49-37 at the quarter.

Fianlly, Frye gets a pair with a nice drive.

Miramonte was cold as ice from the 3-country…. I think they made one of ‘em.
