No. 13 Wilcox
No. 12 Burlingame
No. 11. St. Ignatius
No. 10 Oak Grove
No. 9 Terra Nova
No. 8 Archbishop Mitty
No. 7 St. Francis
No. 6 Valley Christian
No. 5 Serra
No. 4 Los Gatos
No. 3 Milpitas
No. 2 Sacred Heart Prep
No. 1 Bellarmine College Prep

The Merc basically ignores the southern CCS teams so this is not really a full CCS ranking. They even put in a disclaimer "Teams eligible for the Mercury News football rankings come from leagues based predominantly in Santa Clara and San Mateo counties." So don't immediately start tossing rocks at this.

Anyone want to take a stab at where San Benito, Palma, Aptos, etc. fit in?

Don't necessarily agree with the order above but Palma is probably in the top 6; San Benito should give Los Gatos a good game this year an probably a top 10, and according to Coach Blankenship Aptos is as good or could be better than last season (per Santa Cruz Sentinel interview). Aptos is probably a top 15.

Very good PAL95 as I like your rankings & will be curious to see how they stack up with NorCal who is the board specialist on southern CCS teams such as those mentioned.
The few I'd change possibly would be:SF & VC switching places, move Los Gatos up 1-2 and Milpitas down 1, move Mitty up 2-3 and Terra Nova is nowhere to be found. Oh, and one last item - Riordan may very well be in that 11-15 ranking as I have them ranked above SI this season.

Yeah I thought about putting SF ahead of VC, but I just think after these past couple of years of dissapointment and injuries, they should have the season we all have thought they should have had in these past two years. SF will be tough though. We shall find out very soon where LG and Mitty belong and you are right about Riordan. I actually see them upsetting SHP believe it or not. Until they prove otherwise I left them off lol!

As much as I am a Crusader fan, they should not be ranked until they put some W's in the win column. We'll find out soon enough.

That's good stuff re Riordan. But they appear to have enough to be quite dangerous if they stay healthy. We'll know a great deal by Friday evening.

A couple early bell weather games: Oak Grove/St. Francis and Mitty/Los Gatos. Those two contests should provide some clarity

Oak Grove will be facing St. Francis and VC over the next two Fridays. There has been talk that they have a good club again. Next two weeks ought to tell
