That would be impressive and most thought SFL was down. I do think Folsom got a wake up call last week and will win convincingly. OR needs to play better to beat Indy. I think it will be a toss up. If OR is going to beat a team wirh more speed this will be the year because they aren’t by any means slow.

I like Whitney and EG. Both teams peaking.

I might be going out on a limb here, but I just believe Oak Ridge is going to give Inderkum a wake up call. I think OR will win by more than 2 TD's. I just dont see the Inderkum strength of schedule being there and Oak Ridge is battle tested. Could be wrong but just my own opinion. I see Folsom winning on the other side. OR vs Folsom re match will be good, but I think Folsom moves on. Just too much talent. But whoever wins the D1 bracket will have to play Central (Fresno), who is well.. LOADED with talent and not just at skill positions. their D-Line has 3 D1 offers all their receivers are D1 guys and there LB is a D1 guy. Tough test for whoever gets out of the Division 1 SJS bracket.

D2 bracket to me is a roll of the dice. any of the 4 teams can come out victorious. Very intriguing bracket to me!

Oak Ridge giving Inderkum a wake up call, have you seen them play?

OR has played a much better schedule. I still think it will be very close. Inderkum is for real. I give edge to OR being at home and SOS. Plus when is the last time Inderkum has won a big playoff game? They always seem to fall short.

Folsom wins next 2 games comfortably and then gets beat by central. That is how I see it.

D2 is a wildcard. I’m pulling for Whitney.

D1 SJS FINALS
Folsom over MT 28-21
Oak Ridge over Indy 33-31

(Folsom over Oak Ridge 28-20)

D1 CS FINALS
Central over Bullard 45-21
Liberty (Bakersfield) over Buchanan 21-14

(Central over Liberty 35-20)

REGIONAL FINALS
(Central over Folsom 35-24)

Yes, bar no significant injuries or silly suspensions this is the year the Central Grizzles from West Fresno get it done. The Grizzles field more athletes than any team in the CS as well as the SJS. There is no excuse other than bad coaching to stop the Grizzles from competing for a State title. The talent is there and these players have been playing together since they were Pop Warner pee-wee players. Central (Fresno) is a whole different animal than Edison (Stockton).

I was at game. First Qtr was very entertaining with both teams driving At will. (Tied 14-14).

You could start to see OR making some adj by 2nd and the key was they went up 28-21 and had possession to start 2nd half. They scored and it was 35-21 and I felt it was really turning. Totally dominated Indy in 2nd half. Great adj made by cavelier. Honestly I thought Turlock was a tougher matchup. Their kid were bigger and more physical and DB’s could stay with us better.

Indy would be a middle of the pack SFL team this year. That’s just a fact.

If OR plays like they did I don’t see how MT will beat them. Been saying it all year... Lamson is best QB around SjS and top 3 in NorCal.

Nothing more solid than facts based on opinions from somebody that does not coach or come up with game plans from scouting.

OR was the better team, Offense was on fire! Indy's Offenese was on fire for the 1st half, game was a complete toss up for a half, those are the facts of that game. I looked to see how we played vs Rocklin, Whitney, GB and Folsom, it was a fact that we did not play them, tough to find what our record was vs those guys.

It's great to see HS football fans on here every day w/passion for the betterment of the game and supporting their teams. I try not to bash any HS opponents or anybody else ever on these boards, b/c in the end, I have no real idea what goes on at any other program than ours.

At the end of the day, I am going to miss this group, we had a special bond with these last 2 senior classes. It sucks that it's over.
Congrats to OR and good luck the rest of the way.

@mistark, congratulations on a great season. The move up to the D1 bracket certainly wasn't beyond Inderkum's capacity to compete. Convincingly taking out the Delta League champion proved that. It's always unfortunate when the season ends on a loss, but only non-playoff teams and State Bowl champions can do otherwise. It's a fair guess to figure Inderkum will re-load and be right back in the championship hunt next season.

After having seen Oak Ridge up close and being familiar with the Monterey Trail scheme, any opinions on the match-up this Saturday?

And I completely respect a "no comment" answer. The end of a football season is when every coach and player realizes just how exhausting the grind is. If you decided to just not think about football at all, and focus on family through the holiday, I would totally understand.

I have not seen MT play this year.

MT will always start and stop with IV n OV tho. U have to have OLBs than can run with latteral speed and still be stout vs their run. I have no idea how MT passes the ball this yr. IF MT can throw the ball on unexpected downs and when OR knows it's coming, then it will be a good game. Im guessing MT is explosive on O, similar athletes to us. Can MT's Offense grind out yards and make huge plays vs OR, that will be telling. The game will be won up front on both sides.

MT has to get pressure on Lamson, and u have to sack him. We had to play Man Covg to stop their run game, we made many mental breakdowns and gave up big plays too many times. IF MT can stop their run game in zone at times, bring pressure and cover well in man (something we struggled all yr long) then it will be a great game.

You have to remember oak ridge was also playing without there best RB and starting DB (warfield). He plays and it’s a bigger gap imo. Great first half but big adj made by OR in 2nd which led to a big win.

It’s a board where we have opinions and I’m sorry but SOS matters. Oak Ridge was battle tested coming out of SFL.

MT will be a big test. They beat us last year bad but the QB is gone thank god. Believe he was state 400m champ.

Great insight mistark. Appreciate your take on this up coming contest. Congrats on another solid season as well coach. The Junkie

Thanks for the insight. It should be an interesting match-up. Lamson is definitely the key player for Oak Ridge. The better game he has, the worse it is for the opponents. Very different situation than versus Folsom. It was clear that Monterey Trail was willing to risk Reithmeier hurting them with his running, because the Folsom QB wouldn't destroy them doing so. He definitely made plays, but didn't get enough opportunities to do so. Lamson can wreck a team both running and passing, and seems good at sustaining drives, so he will be a tougher match-up.

Oak Ridge also did a good job scheming against the Veer last year when playing MT. Good, disciplined linemen inside and solid linebacker play behind them. MT got several big plays in the 2nd half and made the most of the speed-kills philosophy. I'm guessing Oak Ridge will have some scheme tweaks to minimize that this time around.

Thanks again for the comments.

Oak Ridge is very good program. Lamson is a stud. Our league is a solid D3/D2 league. We were D3 and D2 size school until this last year. Our district opened a IB program and California early college academy which has had a major contribution to the growth at Inderkum. Because of the huge growth they really cracked down on who gets into the school. We play EG and DO preseason. Sac High was the end of two year contract. They were pretty good when we scheduled them. We tried to get other games but not very easy for us. We just cant travel down south or out of state. Burbank actually wanted to play us so we took them. Last year we had probably best D in school history. This year we had 1 returning starter. We were pretty lucky to get 11 wins. OR capitalized on every mistake we made. Hats off to them and good luck. My opinion if MT can cover and get to Lamson they will have a chance. I know MT got OR last year but I think OR is better team than last years squad.

Good post. Agree.

If you can get pressure on Lamson and put him on the ground, he is more likely to struggle and be average. Consistent pressure is the key.

Course you can say that about most QB’s but Lamson can’t be allowed time to make throws or he’ll pic you apart, then gain confidence and then will hurt you with his feet too.
