I predict Rocklin will easily dispatch of Del Campo, Wood just over DO, Antelope out scoring Sac, and Grant over GB. I'm hearing rumblings that GB does not want to play at 6 on Sat. Want 1pm start.

Hopefully that's just rumor mill rumblings. The GB community we're the first to show their support after the tragedy. We'll go El Camino 96 about turf

Both Grant and Granite Bay's AD,principal, parents, etc, were involved in deciding on the 6 pm start. I have not heard anyone "rumbling" about any starting time. All options were discussed which is the right thing to do if any game is going to be rescheduled. All Granite Bay students have been encouraged to attend the game.Good luck to both teams.

According to a friend who teaches at GB they had a parent meeting last night about. Lots of concern outside of the program. Either way, game on at 6pm and it will be a good one. They have great, positive history.

Tough call. I've been to my share of games in DPH (both night and day) but my kid always got there on a bus.
Not sure I would want my son or daughter driving around there after dark. It's not a good place for a lost teen to be asking for directions.
The players actions after the shooting speak volumes to me. They headed for campus because they felt safe there. It's not the school or the kids that are cause for concern, it's the surrounding areas that make me think twice.

Was at two games, DO @ Grant. Two close DO losses in 06 playoffs, and my son's team in 12. Anyway, safe and sound at the school and in stadium. Grant's a great program, they'll make sure everyone's safe Sat night, Grant side and GB side. Looking forward to seeing the game, especially once the Golden Eagles take care of WCW night before. RIP JJ #5.

"Golden Eagles take care of WCW" might haunt you throughout the weekend! LOL This WCW team is more potent than Whitney for sure (WH42 points per game WCW56 points per game with a few over 70 points) they can and WILL score fast and often no matter who is on defense. DO is battle tested for sure and ready to avenge their playoff loss to MEL's Vacaville last season but I assure they will have their hands full and better play their absolute best game or they will get dispatched in a hurry! Should be a great game! Good luck and good health to both teams. I will go out on a limb and say IF Wood looses it will only be to a team that starts with a G.

81-8 .. I remember that game well. Don't mess with DPH!

As for the GB game, these teams haven't matched up since the '08 playoffs. Far too long. The Pacers lead the series 3-1. Should be a great game.

That 2008 game was one of the best high school games I've seen. And sadly, it was a first round game! I think they was one of the last years before the SJS changed the playoff format.

That was a darn good GB team. Possibly among their very best, but a 1st round loser -- albeit to the eventual State Open Bowl Champion.

Tonite's GB @ Grant game should be a great one. Would like to see the Grizzlies win it and put the SJS D2 semi back at DO next Friday, tall order for GB. Good luck to both teams. D.O. dominated line play on both sides, game was decided at LOS, most of the Picks WCW threw were from Eagles DL pressure, D.O. made plenty of mistakes, but made big plays when it mattered, officiating crew was horrible.

Going into tonight's game, the SFL is 9-0 in postseason play. 5-0 in the D2 bracket. Word is that it's a pretty good league.

I've seen Grant play a couple times. I saw their scrimmage against Rocklin prior to week 0. I went to DPH for their Saturday night game against Bullard. And I've seen them via stream a few times. I've seen GB a few times too. Against Rocklin and Folsom and streamed a few times, notably against DLS and DO.

I think this game could be very tight. I think Grant Union is the more talented team, but they haven't always played that way this season. GB seems to be getting better each week, like many of the SFL teams seem to do. If both teams play their capabilities, I believe the Pacers should win and advance. But I do think GB has the tools and talent to grind out a win. If their defense plays as they did during the 1st half against DLS -- being opportunistic and stingy -- they've got an excellent shot.

Remember, the Spartans only led 7-0 w/ less than 2 minutes in the half before an untimely safety led to 9 quick points and a 16-0 halftime deficit. The Pacers need their huge line to get push and get Collins and Green going. Mix in a couple deep shots to their talented WR's Brown and Hardy and the Pacers will be in great shape.
