The mighty Pilots from Jason Kidd HS, errrrrrrrr St. Joe’s Notre Dame face off with St. Patrick’s St. Vincent at SPSV’s very loud gym in the By Area’s garden spot (not), Vallejo.
Yes it’s loud now, with the alleged “music” being blasted thru the speakers at about 500db, but the loud will get much better in quality as the tipoff approaches... This has always been a terrific, loud, exciting atmosphere, great place for some hoops!
SPSV comes in here with a 20-10 record, but is ranked #7 in the section based on schedule strength.
St Joe’s is 23-7, ranked #12 after dominating their weak league slate... I wonder how the schedule strength of the two teams would compare if you counted neither team’s league games?
SPSV, of course, features the gigantic Dishon Jackson... But they have a solid group of guards too. I’m told #3 Esai Contreras has incredible range and touch.
St. Joe’s has a more balanced squad... and Coach Lippi... Not sayin’ SPSV doesn’t have a solid coach, but Lippi seems to create a strong team no matter how much or little his team’s size and talent level is...
Bring it on!
