Upon review of the brakets i noticed 2 teams playimg each other in the gold division who could possibly be The 2 best teams in the event. Why would an event do this. The matchup is Strake Jesuit 10-4vs Centennial Comton 7-2. Strake is a Texas school who has produced players such as Rusheed Suluman of Duke/Maryland

Newark hasnt been very competitive this year given the players they have lost. They should not be a Platinum Level team.

So what's your definition of competitive? Getting blasted by woodcreek (arguably most talented team in Nor-Cal), ok maybe give you that one, all other losses are by 3 possessions or less. Maybe talent not there but let's not call a Newark team not competitive...

Newark is 2-5 and the one upper-echelon team they have played blasted them by 30. Ashmore is arguably the best coach in NorCal and there's no doubt he will coach them up and have them playing their butts off, but this is probably one of the least talented team he has coached. Not only are they small, but they lack athleticism. Dacaurey Brown is a stud, but other than that, the cupboard is bare. If you want to give them a Platinum level spot based on reputation that is understandable. I just think this year they are going to have a difficult time given the schedule they play.

Does anyone know anything about the team Newark Memorial plays, Washington HS (Milwaukee)?

No clue, but Im guessing they arent coming all this way if they are a pushover. I noticed the first game on their schedule after this tournament is against Simeon from Chicago.

I see that this Washington team has only 7 games on their Maxpreps schedule...

They must have other games, but I can't find any usable info.

Kidmann32- I went to their win against CBHS today. They are big and super athletic. Have a couple very good players and a lot of role players who can bang and finish inside. He plays a good 8-9 kids. They can't shoot. They shoot so they can offensive rebound which they do very well.

I'm going to checkout folsom vs Oak Tech tnite. Folsom should win by 10+ but you never know. Folsom would end up playing Wash in the next round. I don't know if Folsom has the size to match these guys. I mean they look like college grown men. 6"4 -6'5 but big.

Elias King from CBHS was the best player on the floor though. He's a nice D1 prospect.

Newark now 0-3 in the event losing by an average of more than 25 ppg. This might be Ashmore's worst team ever.
