St Ignatius and Salesian

Was at the game tonight. Very balanced effort as usual for SI. They had seven players score between 7 and 16 points. Raggio left in the fourth quarter with an ankle injury.

Big game off the bench for Beckman.

Personally I was happy both SMB and Salesian were bumped to Open but they should have stayed D4. This is a major flaw in the open. Can you imagine those two teams in d4 right now?

Salesian was the right call to be bumped up to the open....They did after all go to back to back to back state championship games

and won their section and only lost 3 games......they had the resume' and the history....

SMB on the other hand was a head scratcher to me....I know they had some good wins....but no section championship and no deep state title runs recently.

The SMB/Salesian winner in the section championship should have been pulled to the open...the loser should have been the 1 seed

in D4....

By the way...if that scenario had happened...Tues matchups would THEN have been..... #5 Brookside Vs. #1 SMB........

and #2 CN Vs. #3 Scotts Valley/ #6 Piedmont winner.

Pretty friggin good matchups..
