St Joe vs Lick-Wilmerding

Tonight, I have made my way to St Joe’s for their NCS semifinal game vs. Lick-Wilmerding of SF.

Just got finished watching the Pilot ladies claim a hard-fought 53-47 victory over Marin Catholic... Exciting game that was tied at the half, 24-all. Pilots won the 3rd quarter 20-10 and hung on from there.

On to the boys...

LW is 23-6 and ranked #21 in the NCS. St. Joe’s is 21-9 and ranked #17, higher rank due to the Pilots’ difficult non-league slate...

Judging from glances at the teams warming up, it looks like St. Joe’s is at a bit of a disadvantage size-wise... Happens a lot, the Pilots will deal the best they can...

St Joe's will have their way with Lick. If their center Zach Johnson was playing I would think that Lick would play them tough but that's not the case. I think SJ wins by 15-20 points.....

43-15 at the half... Not only are the Pilots driving LW nuts with the press, LW has fired up enough bricks to build a new gym... LW plays really hard, but that just hasn’t been effective... Pilots are in a groove.

The NCS website has them playing SP/SV Saturday 7:00 at Albany HS. The girls play Arcata before hand at 5:00.
