State Bowl Location Change

What is the capacity of both locations? I think we're still on a SoCal cycle, but if these are big enough, maybe they can submit a bid for when the games return to NorCal.

Kezar Stadium is a 10,000 capacity stadium and full-size soccer pitch that is the perfect place to host your game. from San Francisco City Park & Rec.

Is it really much worse than in Carson? Close to two freeways, gas station and food across the street... there is that pesky airport across, but that would just make it more convenient for Mater Dei to fly in for the game. 😋
Carson has far less traffic congestion around the stadium than Avaya. However, surrounding freeway traffic is about the same or heavier than San Jose. Good point about MD travel advantage.

PPS Realized 2 day after the fact this comment wasn't posted...

FCS Stadiums are the perfect size for HS State Championships. I love NorCal but rain is always a constant risk in NorCal. Why not just have them at University of San Diego football stadium.

Just took a look at a pic of U of San Diego's stadium... VERY nice!

Maybe a bit low in capacity for state title games at 6,000 (according to their site), but... just WOW!

Too bad I can't seem to add a pic...

What about the Oakland Coliseum, now Ring Coliseum for naming rights? No one is using it, now that the Raiders are in Las Vegas. Plenty of parking, easy freeway access to I-880, Hotels nearby, as well as OAK Int.l Airport, and great public Transit to and from the Stadium, BART, & AC Transit.

And there is plenty of parking available. Not. Keep the games away from SF, please. Dysfunction is that town's middle name.

I don't think high schools stadiums should be used, no matter how nice, for the top games. These are special games and the venues should be special, whether a college stadium or pro stadium (football or soccer). I'm sure the players for teams who get to play in the pro stadiums, like the Oakland Coliseum or the Angels stadium, regard the experience as something special, even if the crowd kind of rattles around in the vast expanse. It will never get to the point of the Texas finals with tens of thousands of fans in the big stadiums, but it should be special anyway.

Just looked up the stadium for UC Davis and yes, that is really nice.

One issue that no one ever addresses, as far as I know, is that technically, the goal posts width are supposed to be different for high school than for college. For high school the uprights are supposed to be 23'4", while in college and the NFL, they're 18'6". I know there are a lot of shared stadiums, but I don't know that these are ever addressed.
Menlo College and Menlo high had no problems when both programs shared the facility. The difficult thing was the officials having to determine what level they were doing. Did actually see officials rule à FG on a high school game no good because it hit the inner uprights and came back. The coach attempting the FG went balistic snd asked the officials to confer and eventually the right call was made and the FG ruled successful.

Agree, the NCS used it for many years. Makes no sense not to utilize it

Saddleback College Stadium is nice enough, but the parking is really disjointed and there are no permanent food locations (at least on the visitors' side). I didn't really even see any room to add any. All they had was one table serving Chic-Fil-A and another for Chinese food. Gates surround the facility and the only way I think food trucks would fit would be in an adjacent parking lot.

If it wasn’t for the dirt infield I would agree. I think UC Berkeley would be a great experience for the kids. And they are away the weekend of November 27th
Since baseball season has been over for the A's, I wonder if they would cover the infield with turf for the occasion. Don't think it would be that much of an expenditure. Of course, the Coliseum and the A's might not agree to it, since they'd have to rip it out afterwards

I would think it would cost a couple hundred thousand to change the field from baseball to football in a multi purpose stadium?

2A and 3A? Lol old school

The worst was segregating North Bay and East Bay schools 2A and up. So watered down, glorified league championships shielded from East Bay talent.

Very Nice Stadium for California standards. A little out of the way, although not far from Sac or the Bay, but the cheaper hotels in Vacaville/Fairfield or Vallejo are a little too far for ease, probably.

Sac City College has a big facility, but Sac St seems to be the go to, although UC Davis has a better facility in my opinion.
Agree, UC Davis is a great venue. Stadium is awesome for this size of game. Location is ideal.
