Do any of the teams you root for have a super fan? Oakdale we have the Goke! Not an alumni. But a fan since 1974. He is blind on the sidelines. Cheering. Encouraging the home fans. I didn't notice at game. But in replay I noticed the Balboa players came over and shook his hand and hugged him!
How can you not love Friday night lights!

Oakdale is such a great HS football community event! I suggest any sports fan try to attend a game at the corral

I would throw Del Oro and the community of Loomis into the Friday Night Lights activities from experience(d). When DO scheduled/played DLS Spartans the visiting fans & parents were some of the most enthusiastic/supportive fans I have ever met.
We volunteer because it's about the kids, the Team, the band, the Cheer squads and the students supporting their teams/school.
Talking with DO parents ....they get it en masse. Many of the DO fans who showed up didn't even have any player connections on the field. They were there just to support their team/community.

And don't get me started on all the old coots who show up to watch their Spartans play......

Too funny I was at that game. Del Oro my # 5 favorite HS team. I made friends with another troll online. Slugbug his kids went to Del Oro. Great atmosphere! When I get in debates online I like to meet the person. That's how I met Champ and slugbug. The other night the Balboa kids greeting Steve was to me one most awesome sights. After that game still showed great class.

That's exactly why Balboa's HC Vasquez schedules strong teams with supporting communities. He wants his players to get out of the City and get a taste of Friday Night Lights. and the life experience that comes with it. Kudos to Balboa!
If you know people in the program. # 66 on the JV team has Oakdale fans. Heart and grit. We would be proud to have a young man like that in our program. It so hot at that game. And I was in shorts and tee. That kid in pads. He never quit stayed on his blocks. You don't have to be the best athletes. Just be the best effort man.!

.It was initially hot at kickoff for DLS-St Francis JV game (+100 degrees) I was sitting at a table selling Programs in my underwear. Think that help boost sales......fans felt sorry for the senile, old guy hustling Team/game Programs in his tighty-whiteys.....

Well, I'd say Pasty is a Folsom super fan, wouldn't everyone agree? I respect his love for the Bulldogs.

Agree .....
but how he shares that love is what dooms him. Patsy and/or all his Sybillic personality posts is reminiscent ....OF having a close up conversation with a someone who hypersalivates and waves his arms like an Italian sign language interpreter while making his point or..........

I really do appreciate his insights into the Folsom HS team/players but if he could just keep his fan gun in it's holster, he could hang onto that remaining pinky toe on his foot that he hasn't shot off yet.

IDK who Slugbug is, as I've never seen a post from that person that I can recall. But Champ is a CHAMP! In no way is he anything closely related to a "troll". He's as dedicated of a fan as I've seen on this site. And knows his team and program like no other.

There are several fair-weather fans that have vigilantly posted for their team a couple years during their quick rise to a stellar season. But as soon as their chosen team falters, they disappear. They are what I would call fair-weather super fans.

Well he was trolling Oakdale fans. That's how we became friends. Not only did we become friends him and his wife fixed a tailgate for Oakdale fans. At the worst weather game I ever been to. But what a mud fest! Score 7-6 Oakdale. Extra point hits goalpost goes out for Placer. Hits goalpost and goes in for Oakdale. Slugbug didn't get along with Champ. So Oakdale was playing Sacramento high. And I invited both of them to the game. And when they showed up I introduced them. Now we are all friends. Now they have a rivalry Del Oro and Placer that's cool. Something about I80 corridor

On here, I've always enjoyed following @bulldogmgc (St. Mary's) and Dan12Kings (I think that was his handle for Vacaville)
Dan12Kings is a person that comes to mind as a recent poster I wish was still active here.

PS MudnGuts was one of the most entertaining posters to grace these boards. I don't know if he was a poster before but I remember the game he created his moniker from - LG vs SF. It was a smash mouth mud bowl that night. The next day (or actually that night), he posted with his new handle the details of that game. I think he was a LG fan, but later he moved to a more generalized NorCal fan.

Rmbr26 is a great poster for the WCAL - he has slowed down in his postings recently but he is still active here. I can't recall what WCAL team he is a fan of... so I call him a WCAL Super Fan.

I can't remember the handle of a poster fan of St. Ignatius who became prolific while his son played and stayed active a 3-4 years afterward. I'm sure many will fit that profile supporting their kids through posting. But would I call them Super Fans? Probably not.

There is a Super Fan I know with Valley Christian. As far as I know, he doesn't post here, but he has attended nearly every VC Football game since his girls were cheerleaders in the mid-1980s. (He had no boys.) He is quiet so people would not normally notice him. But he was at the very first VC game I attended in 1996 and he still attends regularly to this day. Of course all the coaches and school administration who attend games knows him. That's a Super Fan for sure!

And the Super Fans of this BOARD still with us:

@Cal 14 - member since 6/12/2001
@CAPTAIN MORGAN since 9/11/2001 (Got to tell us Capt, what made you become a member on that legendary day?)
@NorCalSportsFan since 9/25/2001

Those are some of the earliest monikers I know of on this board - there might be other currently active posters that have been around for a while.

And I' sure there are others, like myself (2002), who read this board a couple years before actually signing up as a member.

Thanks brother. Def a super fan. Some of my extra circular stuff is just for fun and to ruffle some feathers just to get @MC415 to create a few more fake names like back in the day! He know what I am talking about! :)

Go Folsom!

Wow. I’d have to ask Frank about that. That doesn’t sound like the guy I’ve read here and also met.
Oh yeah ask him! He had a bad experience at the Corral. And from one interaction with one fan. And if you know him ask him! Trust me he is in my friend list on my phone. Now I haven't talked to him this season. But I should since Placer is 4-0! Placer my # 3 favorite HS team.

I still remember coming up to the Corral for a game. It was awesome!

Dan12Kings was a favorite of MudnGuts, often getting a shout out from the Mudder.

I met Dan out at Del Oro. I believe it was 2016, and back when Dan was very active on this forum. He came out and sat with me and SmashmouthRick. He seemed like a very good dude! I have no idea why he stopped posting here.

I never met Muds, but he is surely quite the character. He and Mrs. Muds.

Aren’t we way overdue for a rare drop-in? He seems to appear outta nowhere every now and again.

And you FBAddict at Oct 13, 2002. Whatever happened to Muddnguts? One of the All time creative posters. I know he was a Los Gatos Fan. He retired to Taos NM and dropped off the map a couple years later. I believe he had health issue per his wife who posted under his handle.

I want to Shout out to @larry legend33 and @ThunderRam , these 2 Dudes are Absolutely Superfans!….

Legend knows the SJS inside and out, is a huge Oak Ridge and CN fan…. He is always watching and following games and posts all the time…. I really enjoy reading his takes on everything HSFB and even with other sports….

Thunder Ram is one of the most Knowledgeable HSFB posters I have seen on these Boards…. He goes to the games and he has an amazing and vast knowledge of HSFB going back Decades…. While I may not always agree with his takes, I respect his knowledge and fandom and read all his posts….

There are many others on this board because it is such a great Board…. @Streak One should be proud of the community he has created….

Also @Streak One should be considered the #1 SuperFan for giving us all this platform and especially for the Score Threads every Friday Night!!!🤣🍻

When I first got swept up in Prep football and the NCP site in 2008. The Mudd'r was one of my inspirations.. My Crete 2.0 was a Sophomore at De La and very involved in the extra-curriculars, the Mrs and I got swept up in a volunteer wave ultimately settling on the Football Program sales. The then AD & coach Eidson was our boss (a man of few words but guaranteed , every other one was hilarious) My first run in with Prep Fan posting threads was in the local Contra Costa Times......Home of some rabid anti Spartan posters, especially from other Concord HS's.
It was great finding this NCP site; knowledgeable and for the most part respectful posters. Not so many
knee-jerk(off) daddy ball & bench warmer veterans of years gone by.

A lot of great posts from prior years. Wished I had saved them for rereading and to remind me of what NOT a great waste of time participating here can be.. Stand by your Team/School win or lose .......Like a broken clock you got a chance to be right 2x's every day.

I remember “MtJohn” back in the day - he was a pretty obnoxious DLS homer, and seemed a bit “off”. I wouldn’t call him ‘super‘, but dude was loyal.
there was a Grant poster around that time too that was super active. So this must’ve been around 2006-2008 time frame

Nahhh......the Streaky One does it for the bIG bUCK$,the glamour and the glitzy star treatment he receives when he drives up to the school in his tricked out, jet black Winnebago Travato, lifted and sporting oversized mudd and snow tires with the message "here Comes the Streak" embossed over the silver lightning streaks painted on the port and starboard sides of the 'Bago AND his famous NCP visage painted over the grill.
I remember the first time I met the Streaky One he was cutting to the front of the long, snaking students' line at the Owen-Owens football Coliseum's Thermopylae Last Chance Snack Shack to get his favorite Persian style skewerd meat sticks.. Even back then I knew he was destined for bigger and better moments

Yeah, I remember that poster - he would what I call fair-weather fan.

There were several posters early that had cool handles like Chicken lips and Turkey legs. And there is Run&Shoot (or something similar) that still posts from time to time.

Mt John was to DLS like @pastyfastquick3 is to Folsom….. Except Mt John used the same Handle across all the boards…. 🤣🍻

I joined Jan, 2002. After writing and scouting for Norcalpreps for several years,
I started to focus on the hoop site. Once in a great while I might add something
On the Football page. I do enjoy visiting though.

Here's wishing you great football.
Cool - thanks for sharing! I think that puts you in the basket of early NorCal Super Fans! Same goes for @jordan24
How about OldTennisCoach or whatever the Pasty of Novato high in the 2000s he was hilarious
That's one of the guys I tried to remember - definitely another fair-weather fan.

I appreciate the shoutout, although I consider myself more of a former player/coach and football historian than a super fan. But that’s just my take on it.

I suppose in the context of being a super fan of the game of football itself (versus a specific team/school) — which I became an avid fan of at age 6 — then I definitely fit that title ;)

Great callout on LL, who definitely is a super fan of the HS game. Outside of @Streak One, LL probably gets out and attends more of a variety of games than most. I had a great time meeting him and his boys out at Del Oro quite a few years back.

I like to break LL’s balls now and then for some of the things he says, but I fully recognize and respect his fandom. I appreciate all of you that recognize and love the awesomeness of HS sports. There’s nothing else like it. I just wish I could get more of my close friends to understand it. They are too stuck on college and pro — things they can bet on ;)
