The NCS has released their tentative football divisions for 2019. NCS staff will review April 1 and 2, correct any errors, and send petitioning information. https://d2o2figo6ddd0g.cloudfront.n...divisions_by_competitive_equity_-_revised.pdf
They should be D1 because the Open 1st round is technically the semifinals, which is worth 6 CE pointsSo CVC drops down to D2 and avoids facing DLS in the playoffs despite being in the Open division every year?? A real head scratcher. Must be that San Ramon area bias.

And every other team in the NCS has only won one Open division game. That is except DLS.Head scratcher is putting it mildly. But then again I don’t think they have won a playoff game since the move up so why not put them back into the easiest road to state and see if they can get it right this time. Of course the school can always petition to move up, but I highly doubt that happens.

You let a good take be ruined by your San Ramon area bias in the last sentence. ;-)So CVC drops down to D2 and avoids facing DLS in the playoffs despite being in the Open division every year?? A real head scratcher. Must be that San Ramon area bias.
I was going off of your argument that Clayton hasn’t won a playoff game. I agree with you that they have no business being dropped down to D2. Then again, neither does San Leandro or Foothill, or Deer Valley. Not sure what your point here has to do with putting a program that clearly should be D1 in D2. May be I can clear this up for you though. The object of sports is to challenge yourself or team. If CV or all those “other” teams can’t win, then do whatever it takes to get better in the off season. That doesn’t mean move all those teams down until they find a place they can win.

So O'dowd, the defending NCS D2 Champ, gets put into D4? WOW! This is insane. CV in D2 is also a joke. CV is a charter school (no enrollment restrictions) that has a HUGE roster. Numbers wise and player size. BOD, a 1,200 student private school that produces as many D1 football players as any other team in the bay gets placed in D4?!? Gill and company at it again!
This article tries to explain the math involved with CVC dropping down into D2. Campo is not happy with the new format, to the point that Macy is hinting on the Cougars possibly even sitting out the playoffs this fall.

Wasn't Murphy selling a limited edition shirt a few years back before their playoff game talking about the night the streak would end? What happened to that mindset?
I guess the reality they have been getting Dog walked since playing D1 has set in. It’s time to embrace going back and picking on smaller less fortunate programs and schools, “because they just don’t have the points” (SMH)
