tentative NCS Football divisions

So CVC drops down to D2 and avoids facing DLS in the playoffs despite being in the Open division every year?? A real head scratcher. Must be that San Ramon area bias.
They should be D1 because the Open 1st round is technically the semifinals, which is worth 6 CE points

Head scratcher is putting it mildly. But then again I don’t think they have won a playoff game since the move up so why not put them back into the easiest road to state and see if they can get it right this time. Of course the school can always petition to move up, but I highly doubt that happens.

And every other team in the NCS has only won one Open division game. That is except DLS.

Not sure what your point here has to do with putting a program that clearly should be D1 in D2. May be I can clear this up for you though. The object of sports is to challenge yourself or team. If CV or all those “other” teams can’t win, then do whatever it takes to get better in the off season. That doesn’t mean move all those teams down until they find a place they can win.

You let a good take be ruined by your San Ramon area bias in the last sentence. ;-)

I was going off of your argument that Clayton hasn’t won a playoff game. I agree with you that they have no business being dropped down to D2. Then again, neither does San Leandro or Foothill, or Deer Valley.

My take was in no way to be taken as justification for dropping them to D2, it was pure sarcasm and if anything a knock at a program that paints itself as world beaters. I don’t care if CV or anybody else ever wins another playoff game. There has to be a winner and loser in sport otherwise what’s the point?

So O'dowd, the defending NCS D2 Champ, gets put into D4? WOW! This is insane. CV in D2 is also a joke. CV is a charter school (no enrollment restrictions) that has a HUGE roster. Numbers wise and player size. BOD, a 1,200 student private school that produces as many D1 football players as any other team in the bay gets placed in D4?!? Gill and company at it again!

Ehhhhhh they are in there with Newman and Marin Catholic the same teams they be facing in D2 or like they have in D3, not too unreasonable.....a BOD vs MC or CN final will always be a good matchup

With the new state playoff format of no losers getting to move on I think we will see this type of placement in a lot of section playoff divisions.

This article tries to explain the math involved with CVC dropping down into D2. Campo is not happy with the new format, to the point that Macy is hinting on the Cougars possibly even sitting out the playoffs this fall.

Was it common core math? No amount of math or explaining will justify the move. They are clearly a D1 program and I don’t blame campo or any other D2 school for being upset. I’m not sure why CV who loves to come across like they will play anyone anywhere attitude doesn’t step up and say, no we are D1 put us there. Of course we know that won’t happen because the coach feels it’s a justified move since they “don’t have all those points” a far cry from the history will be made days I guess.

Clayton Valley Charter should be in Division I. That shouldn't be up for debate.

On another point, Campolindo has taken on the "woe is me" attitude going back to playing bigger schools in the NorCal bowls, not wanting CVC in their league and now this. They seem all in on playing enrollment divisions and not that into NorCal/State stuff

Wasn't Murphy selling a limited edition shirt a few years back before their playoff game talking about the night the streak would end? What happened to that mindset?

I guess the reality they have been getting Dog walked since playing D1 has set in. It’s time to embrace going back and picking on smaller less fortunate programs and schools, “because they just don’t have the points” (SMH)

Well....I own a pit bull and have to walk him everyday.

Some of those Dog walks De La Salle took them on were more in line with that of a cocker spaniel than something who's bite is as big as their bark.
