I just want to reach out to everyone and thank those that supported us this season and those that had nice things to say about our group of kids. Although some of you I only know by a screen name, I appreciate the respect and support you have shown our program. Throughout this process we were only focused on being the best version of us. It truly is a marathon as it was a 5 month journey culminating in a state championship we weren't sure we could ever possibly attain.

California has the best basketball in the country and many of the best coaches as well. We have tremendous respect for all of them. Not many understand the sacrifices, time and stress head coaches and their staffs put into their seasons. We never took a single practice or game for granted and respected the process throughout.

Thank you for supporting our kids and their passion for the game. We tried to do things the right way each day, regardless of outcome. Fail or succeed, we were going to do it together.

Continue to support your coaches, love on your children and cheer for the efforts of each player on your child's team. In the end, this journey is about them. These are special times in their lives that they will never get back. Help them to embrace it, cherish it and appreciate it.

Sincerely,
Craig Campbell

Awesome job from the top to the bottom there was accountability, leadership, unselfishness, hard work, improvement, sportsmanship, confidence, and unity, from the outside looking in. A pleasure to watch the journey.

Congratulations to the " team "

Excellent post Coach. I was rooting for Mitty all season, but short of them winning the Open title, I'm glad it was your team. I didn't get to see your team play in person this year, but watched a few replays. Love your style, hustle, and determination. Congratulations on a great season.

Saw them play back in December in the East Bay. Outstanding then, outstanding now. Very impressive group.

Another die hard Mitty fan here - it was great to watch two excellent teams go at each other. Congrats on the hard fought win and championship. You've set a very high standard for the rest of us.

Great post, Craig -- and an even better season.

Congratulations, and take time to savor what just happened.

Just noticed that Miami Country Day, who looked overwhelmingly awesome in winning the Dick's National HS Tournament today and had an amazing record while playing a tremendous national schedule, had just *one* loss all year.

To Clovis West. By 23. Looks like Clovis West is the *real* national champ to me...

Unless you're Centennial, which beat Clovis by 24.

Because CW was bold enough to have perhaps the toughest schedule in the nation, and beat Centennial rather easily in the toughest tournament in the nation Nike TOC, and then kindly gave Centennial a second chance at them. So that was a split.

I ll have my final list put together before too long. Off the top of my head teams like MCD, CW, and St. Johns jump out at me with Mitty, Grandview, Centennial, Riverdale, Paul VI, all rounding out a few of the top ten teams in no particular order.

There's general agreement in the rankings about which are the top ten schools -- but this year, the order is more problematic than usual.

Yeah it's tough when the best team has a loss or two because you have to put in a little more research, homework, and consideration. Because the records of the best teams might be identical and there could be a few less challenged teams that have no or fewer losses. I think it was a pretty good year for California. To have teams we are pretty familiar with like Mitty and CW win perhaps the 3 toughest Tournaments in the nation said a lot. And then to end the season with a split showed they both were worthy of #1.

Congratulations to both Mitty and CW !
