Round two turned out to be black Saturday as four predictions went down the tubes as teams decided they were not going to loose...The most lopsided victory took place as Salesian dumped Moreau Catholic 42-14 in what looked like a possible close game...And Granada shut out Concord 17-0, so one wonders where the Minutemen offense was.
But on the big front, DLS did what DLS does..WIN.....shutting out CVC 28-0, no surprise, but for sure I thought CVC would score.
And Antioch seems to be the surprise team as they held on to get by California 38-31, but it was the Freedom Defense and offensive lines that paved the way for Freedom's victory over Pittsburg 55-35.
Over in the Valley, Folsom took care of Sheldon 42-14, Oakridage stopped Cosumnes Oaks 41-28,Oakdale ran over Vista Del Lago 63-35, Jesuit took care of central catholic 42-21, a big surprise..but the real shocker was how bad Vacaville lost to Del Oro to tune of 54-13..a real stumper..

OPEN
Clayton Valley charter 9-1 at DLS 9-1....the pick.....DLS 35 CVC 20....what happened
DLS 28 CVC 0.....The Eagles did come up with a passing game, but it was half hearted and did not help the running game....CVC was busy racking up first downs and collecting yardage totaling close to 230 yards on the ground and were moving the ball between the 20yard lines, but DLS' defense would bend but never broke..that big Spartan line held tough when it had to...CVC never had any big plays that could have changed things and although they played a good game, they never came close to scoring..
Line Score
DLS.....14.....07.....00.....07.....28
CVC.....00....00.....00.....00.....00

Pittsburg 9-1 at Freedom 10-0.....The pick.....Pittsburg 45 Freedom 42.....what happened....Freedom's offensive and defensive lines kept Pittsburg from getting rolling as the Falcons struck on the first play of the game with a 60 yard burst up the middle by Ronnie Rivers that set the tone for a Freedom route of Pittsburg .. Talk about a prediction back firing...It was all Freedom in the first quarter as the Falcons unloaded on the Pirates as Rivers racked up six TD's on 300 yards while QB Joathan Pierce passed for 240 yards and three TD' and the falcon defense held Thompson to two TD's and only 60 yards, it was a total team effort on the Part of Freedom
Now, Freedom takes a break and then travels to Dublin on Friday night at 7 P.M. for a clash with DLS.

California 9-2 at Antioch 7-4......the Pick.....California 34 Antioch 26....what happened...the pick went down the tubes...Antioch 38 California 31...Antioch racked up 530 yards total, it was Harris with three TD's for 265 yards and the passing of Willeum Karnthong for two TD's and 233 yards...But California could not get rolling until the second quarter. but Antioch had the jump on them and with a last minute goal line stand, it was Harris recovery of a fumble at the one yard line that saved the day and a possible over time game...
Now Antioch travels to Dublin on sat. Dec. 3rd at 7 P.M. for a meet with Monte vista.

Now Campolindo faces Ukiah at home on this coming Friday night at 7.M

Santa Rosa 6-5 at Windsor 7-3.....The Pick.....Windsor 32 Santa rosa 27... What Happened..
Windsor 38 Santa Rosa 37....talk about a come back,....It was a Windsor run-a-way until the fourth quarter when SR scored three TD's and three two point PAT's to tie the came. this is the way playoff games are suppose to be played....the tie forced OT and in the end it was a PAT that decided the game..At one time, Windsor had a 31-7 lead, but the windsor defense fell apart and opened the door
for a huge come back...One of the best games in the playoff.s

Granada 5-6 at Concord 7-4.....The Pick.....Concord 32 Granada 27.....what happened.....Granada 17 Concord 0.....Another pic blows up.....What happened to the minutemen offense????,,,it never showed up...BUT...Granada is in the EBAL which makes them battle tested. Now Granda gets to travel to Windsor on Sat. night for a 7 P.M. meet.

DIVISION THREE

El Cerrito 8-3 at Analy 10-1.....The Pick.....analy 41 El Cerrito 25.....What Happened...
Analy 42 el Cerrito 31.....there is no love lost between these two teams, but they played the game as gentlemen.....The game was close as El Cerrito pulled ahead 24-21 in the third quarter but going into the fourth quarter, the tigers scored 21 in the fourth that was too much for the gaucho's...take a look at the line score as it tell you the final story. But it was Jack Newmans 340 yards passing that kept El Cerrito at Bay....Analy plays host to Marin Catholic on Friday night Nov. 25th at 7.M. Another good example of a good playoff game..

Good write up, I would point out though losing 42-14 is lopsided. But it's no more lopsided than 28-0. In fact getting shut out is worse. But hey a loss in a loss be it by 1 or 100.
