Pretty cool moment for the Bulldogs. Tyler Trosin, Arkansas State, playing on ESPN2 right now.

Member of the Folsom 2010 state title team!

Pretty cool to see people like him at the next level!

Bulldogs on Sundays too with Jordan Richards! (New England Patriots, Stanford, Folsom).

Bulldog Nation!

Did Dano Graves make it to the next level. I know he wasn't the tallest ab but that kid could play. Just a remarkable high school quarterback. Who could forget that state title game versus a very talented Gardena-Serra team?

I know he started at Air Force then xferred to Cal Poly, not sure how he did from there

Graves played in five games last year at Cal Poly. He has seen minimal action this year.

Graves might have been the most prolific player I've seen In HS. He was virtually unstoppable. Its too bad it never translated to the next level but that stuff happens. I will always remember that team. The performance against Serra was for the records.

Glad to see Trosin playing college ball at the D1 level. He was also a little undersized.

That team was amazing! I miss those days!

As far as best "high school players" I would put Graves and John Boyett at the top of the list.

No love for Jake Browning?

Even with the 2010 team, I think Jake was the best pure passer I have ever seen at the high school level. The records speak for themselves, considering he rarely ever played a full 4th quarter in his career.

John Boyett was the best high school football player I've ever the chance to watch play, he did things that were special, on both sides of the ball. He was a true pure athlete.

It was more about guys who did a little bit of everything. Dano with the run and pass. John with the run, pass, defense, and I think he was a punter too.

Boyett was one of the best all-around players I saw play in HS too.

I would say the best in NorCal In my time has to be DJ Williams, he didn't play every position or hardly ever in the 2nd half but he was a much more physical player than Najee Harris with all the other special attributes. It was almost comical watching him run the 100 meters in high school ripped at 230 lbs next to the skinny little 150 pounders.

Boyett and Williams were legit but Najee is the best I've seen. All around is different because some players were legit on both sides of the ball but Harris at RB is no joke. He still has another year and the remainder of this season to cement his legacy in Nor Cal football lore.

I was at the Antioch camp last year and Najee was playing safety, they threw swing pass in the backfield and Najee hawked the back down for no gain. He is special on Defense too.

Not going to argue that Harris will be the best when it's all said and done. I often forget that Najee has a season to go and there are many special moments still to come in his HS career.

John Madden once said the only player he's ever see that could make the immediate jump from HS to the NFL was DJ Williams.

Funny how I use to say Trosin(s) and Graves would be good low D1 or D2 players. Glad they have seem to all land in the right spots. Each one of them were tremendous at the HS level. Each one was a tad undersized to play at the high major level. Southern Oregon has a heck of a program.

I think we all knew they would be good for somebody. For each player, it is always about finding the right program, the right coach, at the right time.

I watched Graves against an undefeated Vacaville team make some unbelievable throws. One right before half, threw a bomb down the right sideline in tight coverage and pouring down rain for a TD making the score 75-0 at the half. He could either make plays with his legs or in my opinion, was more accurate on the deep throws than Browning. Browning threw a lot of short passes that ended up being TD's, as well as some nice passes down field. But if I had my choice of Qb's at the HS level, it would be Graves. He came out at the half or slightly after in most of his games as well too.

Jimmy- I can't argue with you about that statement. I was at that rain soaked Vacaville game. To this day its the most dominant performance I've ever seen at HS level of football. Keep in mind Vacaville was a very good team that year. This wasn't against the school for the deaf and blind.

John Boyett is the best high school football player I have ever seen. QB, FS/CB, KR, PR, Punter, Holder, and played WR/RB his junior year.

Here are two short clips why.

Just to clarify the Trosin(s) and Graves(') discussions, there are / were 2 of each;

David Graves '09 was the QB in 2008 that went 9-2 and lost in the playoffs to a Boyett led Napa team 45-42 at Napa. David went to Hawaii on a full ride and after starting a few games as a sophomore, fell in the mix with the intro of "Chow time" and the mess it created. He graduated with his degree, became a licensed Realtor and recently moved back to Folsom. Side note: Is / was one of the best saxophone players I have seen.

Dano Graves '11 took over as a Junior in '09 after beating out talented sophomore (Tanner Trosin....but that's next) after excelling as a DB & WR for his older brother as a sophomore in '08. In '09 Dano led the team to a 11-2 record with an 1pt OT loss to Monterey Trail and a 1pt loss on a FG that bounced of the crossbar to DO. He came back in '10 and took the opening loss to Grant on ESPN and rattled of 14 straight wins (including Grant in the Section Finals) on the way to a D2 SBG win over Serra and National POY honors. Dano went to the AFA in '11 and transferred to Cal Poly in '13 where he played in 11 games, 5 in '14 and 1 this year. His opportunities have been limited to when "others" are injured. He is a Jr. this year based on eligibility and will most likely be the starter in '16. Side note: This was the beginning of reaping the rewards from the Jr. Bulldog program. Many of Dano's throws looked effortless as he had thrown them to the same WR's for 8+ years in a lot of cases.

Tyler Trosin '11 was the only sophomore from the '10-11 class to start at varsity. As a sophomore in '08, he was in the backfield (next to the elder Graves) and functioned as much as a RB as he did a WR. He returned punts and KO's as well as playing DB and managed to score 16 TD's. He moved to WR in '09 and '10 (still playing Safety) and scored 28 & 33 TDs respectively. Tyler went to Oregon St in '11 where he was red shirted. Transferred to ARC and played '12 and '13 seasons before moving on to Arkansas State in '14 where he is now a Senior starting at WR for them.

Tanner Trosin '12 started the '09 season as a sophomore at QB against Davis splitting time with Dano...Tanner threw 1 TD & 1 INT, Dano threw 5TDs & 0 INT....and so Tanner moved to WR and DB for the '09 & '10 seasons. Getting his turn at QB as a Senior, Tanner went on to break a lot of single season records set the previous year by Dano including 601yds against Deer Valley in his 4th start. Still continued to play Safety on defense for much of the year. Tanner accepted a scholarship to play at Cal Poly and showed promise heading in to the season before being red shirted. Tranferred to ARC and started for '13 & '14 seasons before making the trip to SOU this season. Was the back-up for 1st game before leading a come from behind victory over Eastern Oregon by scoring 24 unanswered pts. (rushing for 2 himself). They have ran of 5 wins since, including 2 OT victories. Side note: Joined local undersized / over looked players Trevor Jones (6' (generous) 220lb NG) from Folsom and Sean Tow (5' 7" 165lb RB) from Union Mine at SOU. Both started on their 2014 NAIA National Championship team.

Those clips are nice, but that guy is in NO WAY the best high school football player. Not a chance.

Cool clip though...
I've watching HS Football for many years, John Boyett was the best pure athlete I've ever seen. There have been too many to list that were great and fun to watch, he just did things that either side of the stands could appreciate.
G, who do you feel is the best you've ever seen?

DJ Williams, hands down.

He was great, absolutely no doubt about it. Boyett was a better pure athlete though.
I don't know about that...

DJ Williams was NFL ready as a high school senior. That is not even seen in this day and age.

Gotta give dap to my own bro. But, then I saw him play Rancho Cordova:
Kevin Wilhite(sp) was a running back I had never seen before, good lawd.

DJ in my opinion. People forget that Kevin Simon played in the same backfield with him and they were the starting LB's. Simon went on to Tennessee and played a couple of years in the NFL. He is currently the scouting director for the Cowboys. I can't think of a better RB/LB duo but would love to hear the debate if someone can remember a better pair.

DJ Williams. Hands down. I recall when Madden said that as well. Close comparison with him and JKidd in terms of what they were like at the HS level.

Lance Briggs was every bit as good as DJ Williams was in high school. Go back at look at the old film and they even look similar. Wore the same number and both played LB and FB.

Just think if DJ had gone to Grant as his brother Worrell, uncle Channing, and dad all did. He would have played with Donte Stallworth, Onterrio Smith and Paris Warren. Crazy.

As far as best players I've ever seen play, Briggs is certainly among them.

I'd also add Troy Taylor -- the 1st area QB to pass and rush for 2,000 in the same season and member of the first 14-0 team -- and Teddy Bruschi, perhaps the most impactful defensive player I've seen.

But for my money, the hands down best player I've seen was Onterrio Smith. He rushed for 48 TD's in 12 games, which is still a record. He scored on kick returns, punt returns, and even threw for several scores. Oh, yeah, he's one of a few to ever rush for over 3,000 yards in a single season. He was a damn good defensive player when they let him play there too.

Don't sleep on Ryan Robards of EG who is playing out his legacy this season. That kid does everything and has 28 TD's in 7 games. Get out and see him play!

See you tonight Thunder.

You know where.

Watched the Boyett videos. But I thought hurdling players was a penalty at the HS level. I know I saw a player penalized for it a few years ago.

Do you know where to find the old film footage of Lance Briggs? He was one I have always thought was the best. I watched him at Elk Grove also. AJ Williams should've played for Grant, the kind of cheated on getting him. That '98 Elk Grove team could've beaten that DLS team, although it could've gone either way by a couple of points. i remember Wilhite from my days at Cordova also.
