WCAL Composite Football Schedule - 2020-2021

Here is the WCAL schedule

Good opening non-league games include Mitty-Palma, Serra-Pitsburg and Valley Christian-Wilcox
I’m not sure how good Mitty is going to be this year. Since Rambling man won’t show up until after Thanksgiving that leaves NorCal to do the game analysis. Those other two games should be good.

Saint Francis will also be playing Wilcox and DLS. They have 11 returning starters. Maxpreps has made a mess of the SF roster. If you want to know who’s coming back you have to go to the 2019 roster. Next year will be SF’s high water mark. This year I’m not sure where they will be other than better than last year. They have a ton of young talent.

MaxPreps has been notoriously bad about rosters for years. Try each school's site instead.

SHC will get a boost in their running game with R.L. Walker and Jerry Mixon coming up.

Wilcox may be in for down season. Mitty probably down (Palma JV W 38-7 and lack of numbers on varsity); Sacred Heart Cathedral prep returns very good QB and all key WRs, VC should destroy Wilcox thi season (Wilcox lower levels not very strong); VC versus Pitt should be a good game.

Agree wholeheartedly re El Rambo. His yearly analysis is eagerly awaited by his WCAL-centric followers. He (we assume a male in this case) is a WCAL version of the San Jose Mercury News' Jon Wilner, the NorCal journalistic guru of the Pac-12. The Rambler's 2021 preview (assuming there is a season) will be especially interesting for a number of reasons: Two new head coaches at Bellarmine and Mitty; St. Ignatius' ability to defend its 2019 co-title; anticipated progress at Riordan as it opens its renovated on-campus field and goes coed for the first time in its history; important adjustments to potentially different sets of pandemic rules in the three counties embracing the league (San Francisco, San Mateo and Santa Clara) over a 50-mile span.

...and one more thing, it would not be a shock to see a familiar trio picked to vie for the WCAL championship again...that would be St. Francis, Valley Christian and Serra...but we'll leave the prognostications to Dr. Ramble...a side note: this will be Coach Walsh's 20th season as the boss at Serra, making him the WCAL's longest tenured active mentor...VC's Machado has 19 in the WCAL...
