What about the AAA

There's light (albeit a dim one) at the end of the tunnel. There's talk that AAA will allow practice soon. School Board meeting tonite, and main topic is sports re-opening. FInger-cross.... Basketball is in the picture as well as football.

AAA had a meeting recently with various league reps and officials. They are now able to go forward with prep sports this season. The problem now is schedule approval by the administrations of the schools. It is looking promising there will be some sports but I doubt there will be any season 1 Sports this year. We all know this process is going to be like trying to navigate through molasses but we can now say there may be sports in AAA this year ( most likely no football) we will have to wait and see what comes of it. I got this from a soccer official who attended the meeting. He did say football officials were there but that

Does anyone else have the feeling that, if they could, the SF public schools' authority figures would gladly get rid of football altogether?

There was a pdf yesterday for the meeting tonight regarding a plan to allow AAA sports. But that pdf is no longer available/active. From what I remember seeing from that pdf, only outdoor sports were gonna be allowed and playing only schools within the district. Also, mentioned that basketball was only going to be allowed as outdoor practice only. I do not recall seeing any other indoor sports. So maybe that information changes after the meeting tonight.

Sounds like a " squeaky wheel gets the grease " moment. Coaches, players and players' parents should make their voices heard at tonight's meeting.

Don't let it become a Woulda-Shoulda-Coulda moment.

If anyone has any seniors or Juniors that would like a professional highlight tape, The San Francisco Rebels has secured funds to make this happen, in addition a subscription to recruiting services. Stay Tuned. Boys and Girls Basketball, Football, Boys and Girls Soccer, Softball and Baseball. There will personal coaches there to work the kids out and film will be made. Just our part in giving back . Anyone who is interested should contact Nate Ford at sfrebels@icloud.com

Flag football games only. Somehow, since it is SF after all, it makes perfect sense.

Maybe that's the answer for the AAA from now on. Forget real football. Go with the flag variety. Less wear and tear. Lower cost. Fewer injuries. Make it like AYSO. Everyone plays. Everyone gets a trophy. Everyone gets to keep his/her flag. Everyone's happy. Everyone's a winner. Great.
