A fairly new high school in the past who gave DLS a game years ago, but now just stumbles along....in 2017,the Vikings went 0-10 and their closed game was against Delhi which they lost 34-28 and the balance were bad news. The area is a mix of some old but mostly fairly new Any body in the area have any information....

I honestly have heard of most HS in Norcal but I have no idea who these guy are. Never heard anybody mention so I looked them up and its 1-9 or 0-10 every season going pretty far back. i guess getting 1 win this year would be a major improvement but when did they play DLS? i can't imagine they would have ever met.
Larry...It was about 1998 and it was DLS beating Johansen 31-28 or it could have been Buchannan of Clovis.....There was a story in the green sheet that had the coach stating they were playing DLS to win.
DLS ran over Buchannan 56-13 in 2001...So what ever took play was before 2001....I can't find any records beyond 2001...
If Johansen played De La Salle it was before 1992, you can see De La's schedule from 1992 to now on http://www.spartanhood.com/. Johansen isn't listed anywhere. Close call with Mater Dei in 1998 and another close one in 2000 against Buchanan of Clovis.
JJDAVIS53....That close game had to be with Buchannan in 2000 where DLS fought off a determined valley team and won 31-28, I've had a lot of business in Modesto and drove by Johansen, so the name had to stick in my mined.
It looks like they won a league title in 2008, but the wins have been few and far between before and after that.

OBSERVER22....Johanson has a great football field and the school is easy to get to, but you are right....It was Buchanan who faced DLS, with an almost senior team, but grad the following year did Buchanan in to the tune of 56-14. The coach at Buchanan was real high on this team and they gave DLS a battle but lost 31-28...
They had a couple of good years in the 2008-2009 I think it was. Good O-line very fast RB but that was it in football.
Is it safe to say Johansen has gotten more pub on this thread than they've got in the last 10 years? And I'm predicting a banner season. 2-10. What is the deal with there roster.. 114 players. Is that the list of anybody who went for a physical to play? They aint Mater Dei.
GUYS...You would think that with 114 kids on the rooster that they would come out at 5-5 at least, but Larry's prediction of 2-10 sounds good, a banner year could be on its way......
hahah.. I'm just kidding. Hope the program finds some success. Its no fun to lose year in and out.

It’s possible though! But it takes a dynamic (usually younger) coach and enabler. Three winning seasons in the 25 years prior to new coach. 3 winning seasons in his first 5, with a 4-6 and the 5th was 5-5. In his fourth year, last game was in the Coliseum. Put the program on the map and put the fear into the Goliath of NorCal.
