The Golden State HS Football Coaches Community had productive meeting with the govenor's office. They have another meeting on Thursday with California Health and Human Services Secretary Dr. Mark Ghaly and Executive Secretary Jim DeBoo

As the governor's approval rating plunges and a recall effort picks up steam, the move to bring back high school athletics may have been given new impetus. As they say, timing is everything.

In a meeting with our AD last week some of the outdoor sports allowed under the purple tier like cross-country, golf, tennis and swim were given the go-ahead to start practice and look at scheduling with neighboring schools in the county. First contact could be as early as February 15 for cross-country. We received a revised schedule for the rest of the sports depending on county tier. Indoor sports like basketball and wrestling do still look grim, but can play until June 12.
