what is the difference of golden state prep national and black?
where do the students live if attending those schools?
are they only high school aged kids or do graduates play as well?
what is the cost for the players?
1) GSP splits the kids into two teams every year, Grey and Black.
The national team is a combination of the top players from both teams.
2) Students live at either a team house which is usually ran by a coach, or they can commute. Some of the kids do school, some work, it’s just a matter of what that specific player is looking for. There is a ton of diversity on the team.
3) GSP is Only for kids who have graduated high school. Other programs might do it differently.
4) Each Situation is different. But put it this way, whatever you pay to go to GSP, could end up being Pennies if you end up getting a scholarship, even if it isn’t D1.
Value with the current college pricing is somewhere in the 80k-160k range depending on the school.
I’ll say this in my two years supporting the Prolific/GSP programs, I have seen just as many GSP kids get D1 scholarships, as Prolific players. It’s a very well run program that give kids a gap year.
Jayden Russoti did not have one college scholarship offer coming out of Windsor HS. He played one year with GSP and had multiple offers and ended up accepting a full ride scholarship to Pepperdine. That’s $120k in scholarship value.
