CCS regional representatives - look at CCS play-offs with no open divisions

Cal14,

Whether or not you agree with the criteria - I do think the CCS has done a good job of making the selection criteria for regionals (and section play-offs) transparent and not subject to a subjective, political process.

I never said I didn't agree with the criteria. I just said that they didn't likely consider rematch scenarios. One of the criteria to allow a runner-up to advance was to make everything clear. I'm not convinced that they've done that, regardless of your predictions.

CCS teams going to regionals should be Menlo-Atherton, Serra, Valley Christian, Palma and Mitty.

Interesting to look at what the play-offs would have looked like in the CCS with just five divisions set by school enrollment. (number in parentheses was calpreps CCS rating at the end of the regular season)

Likely outcome given how play-offs played out would have been Menlo-Atherton in DI, Serra in DII, Saint Francis or Valley Christian in DIII, Aptos in DIV and Palma in DV.

There would have been a lot of round one blow-outs but that was the case anyway.

Interesting how it wouldn't be much different than the old system as far as outcome - replace Mitty with Aptos which would be a gap in strength but Aptos for enrollment size would be a good representative.
