De La Salle vs San Ramon Valley

The mark of a competitive upcoming game is seeing people make predictions on both sides of the coin. Don't know how many of those choosing SRV are doing so because they really think the Wolves will win or whether they just want to see DLS lose.

For me, it mostly comes down to two factors:

1. SRV may be without their starting RB. This could hurt their balance a bit on offense.

2. There's always a "Fool me once, shame on you. Fool me twice, shame on me" thing with the Spartans. They have a tendency to come up big in big situations just when you want to count them out. I think it will be a very close game and may come down to the wire, but I'm going with DLS 24-21.

That said, I wouldn't be too upset to see the Wolves take this one. Natural tendency to root for the underdog, as long as they're not going up against my team.

Just hope the game lives up to the hype and no one gets hurt.

There is no record of a DLS loss to SRV in the 43 plus years of history as cited below.

It is easier to find years DLS had a perfect record than to the find the years DLS has lost. I scanned the book called When the Game Stands Tall to find the early records of DLS. And then I switched to Maxpreps / CalPreps to complete the win/loss journey 2005 onward. These are the recorded losses or ties.

Bob Ladouceur started coaching DLS in 1979. He changed the make up for high school football in Northern California if not beyond.

I don't remember the year, but DLS beat SRV 50-49 and the wolves were inches of pushng on the ground to win but lost......There isn't any record of SRV beating DLS....In the early years of DLS they were just fining how to win and recruit for the future...

......and in the really, really early years when Lad was an assistant to Indiana Jones in Central America on a quest for a lost Mayan temple, he (Lad) ran into Eidson, a Peace Corp volunteer who was coaching the local youth in a ancient game of Pok-A-Tok where the losers were traditionally put to death. Lad was impressed by Eidson's defensive coaching skills that helped keep his players alive. Over a couple of Aguas de Chaya (the local beveridge of choice) Lad convinced Eidsen to join and to hook up with him back in the Bay Area to coach High School sports once his Corp tour was completed.
...........And the rest is History, along with Eidson's developed defensive skills, Lad took his disciplined lessons learned from the wily Indiana Jones while confronting crocs, bandits and thieving jewel competitors in search of the ultimate prize
