McClatchy's Jack Filby has committed to UCLA, according to Tony Crivello. He is a 2018 prospect.

He hit over .500 as a freshman.

Kind of why I said next year. Way early but a great fit for a lot of reasons. This was his dream school for years. He also is a very advanced guy who will be very physical.

I don't disagree that players should wait as a rule. The thing is that it's not going away. The scary part is some of the schools that are committing way over the limit a couple years early. Big disappointments coming.

Let's see... as a 14 year old entering my sophomore year of HS my dream school was Notre Dame. I was a parochial school kid. That changed 6-10 times before I actually graduated from a UC. I see regrets somewhere down the line. Good Luck Kid.
