After getting his first offer from San Jose State in February, Capital Christian 2019 running back D'Marcus Ross has added Utah State, Sacramento State, UNLV and Navy in the past two days.
At 5-foot-10 and 218 pounds, he has the power back build and a similar running style. He hits the hole hard and stays on his angle downfield. His feet keep moving in traffic to not go down on first contact. He has shown the ability to be a pass catching option.
Defensively, he has reps on linebacker and is a hard hitter playing near the line of scrimmage.
His lack of speed (clocked at a 4.97 40 time at the Nike Training Camp) limits his potential, but he can have a productive career as a power, straight ahead running back.
Ross has 3,287 rushing yards and 56 touchdowns as a three year varsity player.
