After spending midday helping Cameron’s Inn of Half Moon Bay make its presence known on the national leaderboards in Buzztime Trivia, I came back over the hill to Burlingame HS for a four-game set.

Carl Reed the Grant AD, Grant Alum. and Grant High Teacher is truly an educator first and leader of young men from an economically challenged community. Utilizing football as a conduit of setting high standards of achievement the Pacers have rebounded from a winless 1st season under Reed to collecting Section and NorCal titles a year later-- that is leadership.
Reed coaches home games and practices on a field his predecessor is named after and now will Coach on that same field a State Championship game.

It's only right that a State Championship game be played in Del Paso Heights!

Both the Jesuit and Gridley Invitational Tournaments will be streamed!

I just got a look at the lineup scheduled for Dec 8-10 at Piedmont HS and Coach Gardere has done 1 heck of a job setting up the tournament this year!

The 6-foot-7 Smith was committed to Idaho and had picked up offers from numerous other Big Sky schools, but committed to Ball State today after visiting the school.

The mighty Bulldogs of Folsom have a critical next 3 weeks- all away games, Pitt, DLS, and Oak Ridge.

Th next three weeks will set the tone for how the Bulldogs season will ultimately go.

A few notes:
Losing Walker Lyons was crushing. He was the best TE in NorCal, heading to Stanford
Rico Flores has been Rico Flores- a top WR in all of CA. Impressive and their main go to guy.
Austin Mack has been impressive. He has been much more nimble than I initially thought. He has an amazing arm and makes good decisions. Crazy to think with all the offers he has, he is still just a junior.

The defense and line play are the biggest issues for Folsom. While they are good enough to beat most teams in NorCal, they will struggle against top tier teams, as they have against Serra. I felt Folsom was much better than Serra- however, without Lyons and the sloppy defensive play, Serra was more disciplined. I think Folsom will likely go 2-1 in this next 3 game stretch.

The Golden State Classic (Prep and Post Grad Event) will be tomorrow, Dec 7-9th at the Ultimate Fieldhouse

GSP has Mid to High major talents such as Tichyque Musaka (7-0 2023), Jerry Deng (6-9" 2023), Elijah Price (6-9" 2023) and Sherman Weatherspoon (2023 PG), and Terrence Brown (Combo 2023) headlining the event.

Sacred Heart Prep beat St. Ignatius 71-50

Tough two games that did not go our way. Great win for Coronado of Las Vegas and Buck 26 points(UCLA). After getting pushed aside from Notre Dame (SO) and working through a new starting lineup we showed some weaknesses that were exploited. Yet the Crusaders are pumped for the rematch to Cen10 and the powerful Huskies squad. Now it is time to see if we go 0-3 or show we belong among the Nation's best. At this point after Corona dropped a nail bitter to Duncanville, they might be looking to punish the Crusaders. Will Phillips and Davis get defensive stops against McCain, Price and Williams and crew? Crusader big men have to be tougher in the paint and not allow so many second chance opportunities against incredibly gifted shooting teams. Going to be a tough matchup, but playing the very best is the way to becoming the very best!! Let's go M.C. !!

Rookie DaRon Bland (Sacramento State/Fresno State) has a lot of local connections between high school and college and has emerged as a valuable player in the secondary for the Cowboys this season.

He was a junior on Central Catholic's 16-0 squad in 2015.
