A couple big upsets in 1st round SJS Wednesday:

SHOCKING UPSET OF THE NIGHT: Division 1 - #12 seed Davis upset #5 seed Lincoln-Stockton, 48-46 at Lincoln. Lincoln may not advance to the NorCals. Davis will play at McClatchy on Friday. McClatchy won 63-36 over Pleasant Grove (Elk Grove)

Division 1 - #10 seed Kennedy upset #7 seed Franklin-Elk Grove, 53-44.

Upset in Division 2 - #10 seed St. Francis-Sacramento upset #7 seed Patterson 50-36 at Patterson. Patterson was a "gaudy" 26-2 going into this game, but had such a weak strength of schedule, they finally played a worthy opponent and lost by 14 at home.

Division 2 - #9 seed Rocklin beat #8 seed Woodcreek, 68-64 at Woodcreek in a fairly evenly matched game.
Division 3 - #11 seed Wood upset #6 seed Pioneer, 55-45
Division 4 - #11 seed Sonora upset #6 seed Liberty Ranch, 53-51

I’m sticking with Colfax, but West Campus has a shot in D4. I overlooked them.

Yes. Colfax has so much section finals experience. I think Marysville will beat West Campus in D4 and play Colfax in the finals. Colfax and Marysville split league wins against each other. In D3, Grant is a solid team and could beat Del Oro next, and give Whitney a tight semifinals game. Grant (22-6) gained a lot of confidence losing to McClatchy by only five points in league play two weeks ago.

Final: West Campus 40, Marysville 39.

West Campus is for real! I stand corrected. Quite surprised though because West Campus had a SOS of minus -1.6. Marysville had an SOS of 3.6.
Edinburgh is a gamer, as her 20 ppg attests. Stands about 5’4” on a good day, and not particularly explosive, but very cagey. Shoots it well from deep. And John Langston has been a championship coach since his days at Sac High. Watch out for them the rest of the way.

West Campus came into the Jamboree late and wound up in the Platinum -- by choice. Other bigger, more acclaimed teams wanted no part of it, but John Langston was up for the challenge.

You can't control how weak your league is.

Took a licking but now they’re ticking.

Not sure St. Francis was an “upset”

Woodcreek should beat Rocklin by 15 on a bad night. The coaching leaves a lot to be desired.
