Strong show for Santa Barbara in the draft
Wonder if Checketts stays at UCSB? Location and recruitment of California would be hard to give up. And for baseball, not sure if you need to go P5 conference to
prove yourself. Football and baseball yes, but for baseball I don't think the move to say a UCLA from a UCSB is that big of a deal.

I agree that baseball is different from football and basketball in that you don't need to be in a top four conference to be in the mix. The new NIL money that schools have to come up with will hurt a school like UCSB, but I don't think a lot of that money will go to baseabll anyway.

If he likes his job and why wouldn't he like the location, seems like it is a good long term spot and he has continued to be able to develope draft picks.
