Non-league and Holiday Tournaments are now done. Here's my WCAL projections for 2025. 4-6 are really close and can easily change.
  1. Archbishop Riordan
  2. St. Ignatius
  3. Serra
  4. Archbishop Mitty
  5. Bellarmine
  6. Valley Christian
  7. Sacred Heart Cathedral
  8. St. Francis

No one is touching Riordan in CCS. With all the transfers now eligible they should win every league/CCS game by double digits. SI is probably the second best team in league, 3-7 will be a toss up. IMO the WCAL is down this year (Besides Riordan).

I was debating putting Serra at #2, but leaned towards SI because of their SOS. Serra did hang with DeLaSalle on the road. SRV beat SI solidly at the Crusader Classic. Will be looking forward to seeing VC and Bellarmine. They could surprise some teams.

Who will be the surprise team of the WCAL? Riordan once in a decade team should go undefeated in league play.
I think St. Ignatius and Mitty are 2 and 3, with Serra at 4.

I have a SPECIFIC question for @jordan24 or @ARHS Stats,…I really don’t want to get into a dialogue with a certain poster who wants to SHARE their reasons why their son’s not attending @TheR, unless they are at the comparative level of some of the Riordan Folklore of old,…Does anyone even care?

But my questions to the listed posters is,…” Has @TheR ever historically preformed at this level with the Preseason Capturing of the “Crusader Classic, Gridley and Torrey Pines”. To me this Trifecta is pretty impressive and elite”.

It seems, @TheR is in competition with themselves of going undefeated,…not comparing them to KC Chiefs, but even they had 1 loss during their season.

I read that wrong, my bad. But that is not answering the question. However; ThxU Sheldon. Yet still @TheR is on a terror this season ”Let’s Do It Again” 🎼.” Just to be clear, my question to @jordan24 or @ARHS Stats,…has @TheR had this much preseason success of winning and placing themselves in Championship at Torrey Pines.

The state title team was massively upset in the Burlingame tournament. But they won the Crusader and the Chaminade in LA which was loaded. Forslund had been playing that tournament and even though Gilbert Arenas torched them one year they won that game.

I am pretty positive the Fontana days they played the Iolani in Hawaii. I don’t think they won it. They had 2 losses that year and one was at state to Mater Dei. The state title team had 4, SH twice in the league title game and CCS and Burlingame. Don’t remember who the fourth loss was.

WAAAYYY back in 1985, Riordan had one 4-pt loss in non-league to mighty Crenshaw in the Chaminade-LA tourney. They didn't lose again until NorCal semis vs Fremont-Oakland @ the Oakland Coliseum, playing without injured star Terrence Mullins.

@ARHS Stats, if my memory serves me correctly, 1985-88 Riordan went undefeated in WCAL. 1985-90 Riordan had 6 different WCAL POY - Erik Newman, Terrence Mullins, Denfield Wade, Wayman Strickland, Ray Kelly and Dwayne Fontana.

Is it fair to state that the WCAL is down a tic this year? Other than Riordan, of course.
Salesian and Riordan should run thru their league schedules. De La Salle will have to contend with SRV, outside of that should be a cake walk. All comes down to who wins the last games of the year. I don’t think the WCAL is down. I just don’t recall any team possibly even in the whole Bay Area with D1 players not starting. Maybe Riordan in the late 80’s.

Adding Stokes to Dougherty will not be a cakewalk for anyone.

Did you honestly ask this question? The team is loaded. Either win it all or go back to the drawing board. Let me ask you who is D1 on the team. Let’s start there. The roster is loaded. If you think they have 1,2,3 only guys, LMAO.

I am sorry, I guess your reading comprehension hasn’t improved….i think I actually didn’t want to dialog with anyone who thinks their son needs mention of what HS they were attending?
