What the Don's did to Alhambra was earlier done by Wood, except Acalanes line controlled, both the O and D...they litterly gave the acalanes QB plenty of time to get off passes, and when the Bulldog defense broke thru, the Don QB was able to scrample and get out of trouble....when the second half opened up, the Don coach was slowly clearing the bench, and even the people off the bench were have good success on both O and D. Acalanes came in with a good game plan and the new head coach pointed the troops in the right direction and they did the rest.
For Alhambra, it was Blalock and Boyd that carried the load on offense , but it was Boyd's two fumbles early in the game that opened the doors as A

Thursday, Alhambra's Freshen beat Acalanes 21-0
For Alhambra, the Bulldogs got 10 first downs, ran for 188 yards on 26 carries, thru for 41 yards on 24 attempts, fumbled three times, punted five times, were intercepted once and racked up nine penalties for 65 yards.
For Acalanes, the running game rolled up 175 yards on 33 carries, passed for 356 yards on 33 attempts, big pass plays were 32,34,17,55,18,65 and 35 which showed just how good the blocking was for the passing game. Acalanes punted once and was intercepted once.
Alhambra's passing game never materialized as both Bulldog QB's did not have time to get off a good pass.
Acalanes QB's displayed a good arm and hit their targets, right on the mark andalso had recievers with good hands and pulled down marginal passes...
