It is late in the season, but wanted to highlight a few alumni that I have seen stand out over the past week. And to safe space for this post, lets just all agree that Aaron Judge (Linden) is awesome and will henceforth be an alumni standout for all future posts.

Kris Bubic (Mitty): After starting for the Royals in 2021 and 2022, Bubic was limited to 46 total innings the past two years. This season, he is 5-3 with a 1.43 ERA in 12 starts. He took a hard luck loss on Sunday agianst Detroit when he went seven innings of one run ball with nine strikeouts.

Jeffery Heard (Valley Christian): Previously at Sacramento State, Heard played at Oregon this year. He had three home runs entering Saturday's elimination game loss to Cal Poly, but hit a pair of homers for the Ducks.

TP Wentworth (Central Catholic): As a freshman, Wentworth started for Clemson down the stretch, including Sunday's 16-4 home loss to Kentucky to conclude their season.

Anthony Martinez (De La Salle) became the career RBI leader at UC Irvine during the regional last week

Gabe came on in relief for Arkansas on Saturday and threw well again. The game was also delayed as he had to change his shoelaces, which was a first that I've seen

In the MLB, Kyle Harrison (De La Salle) is on the move to Boston as the Giants added Devers on Sunday

Buster making things happen. I love the move. Obviously followed Harrison career for years. But there are some concerns. Last years velo drop. Control issues. And lack of another pitch he still hasn’t developed. Wish him well, maybe this turns into a another Zach Wheeler. But the Giants really look like the big winner.

I agree. Giants haven't been able to convince a high end hitter to take their money so now you trade for one.

I kind of think Harrison's best future is as a high leverage reliever who can get you 4-6 outs at a time.
