Palma FG kicker Matt Mecurio kicked FG in SJSU v Army game. He's one of many Palma kickers that have made impact in the college ranks over the years (two currently in D1). Former Palma Center Drew Dalman named captain of the Stanford Cardinals.

I recorded the FSU/CSU game last night and will watch it over the weekend. It appears that Haener, Rivers and Mims all had good games from looking at statistics. Huge improvement for Haener. Does anyone know why Wooldridge played a series of downs? Statistically he did well. Were there any other Norcal guys playing in this game, including CSU?

Fresno State always recruits heavily in Northern California, especially the Sac-Joaquin section. In addition to the skill guys you noted above about half of the defensive contributors last night were from Northern California. Williams- Saint Francis and Lux - Kings Academy had numerous tackles at DB - Bailey - Burbank at linebacker; and much of the D-Line Perales - Merced; Cruz - Concord, Jones,- Serra, and Johnson - Burbank. I only saw one O-Lineman I recognized from norcal which was Tuiteile - from Pleasant Valley and Hanson from Modesto Christian played some Tight End. The kicker Silva is from Milpitas. Usually don't see a lot of Northern California kids at Colorado State who recruits mainly from Colorado - only kid I recognized last night was Brinnon from Bishop O'Dowd at safety.

Thanks for the details! When my son was in the recruiting process the FSU offensive line coach told my son "you play like a prick, in a good way". They never actually pulled the trigger and offered my son, although a few other Mountain West programs did offer him.

Outstanding game for Haener and Rivers. Mims looked pretty damn good too. I believe Haener’s mobility is the main reason he beat out Wooldridge. This is important because I wasn’t impressed with the FSU offensive line, particularly their pass blocking. Haener is listed at 6' 194. There is no way on God's green earth he weighs 194 ;)
