OK, we'ver been over this before. More than once. Still, it's a bit of a premier Peninsula pisser when a hoops high seed has to travel a serious distance to face off with a lower seed in the CCS semifinals. This time, the unfortunate victim of CCS pre-planning is Mills, the No.2 seed in Division III. The Vikings must head to Santa Cruz County for a Thursday evening meeting with Aptos, seeded No.3. Tip-off is 5:30 p.m. at Aptos. It's part of a coastal double-header. Mills, champion of the PAL's Bay (A) Division, and its followers must drive more than 60 miles during Silicon Valley's rush hour through the Santa Cruz Mountains on dicey, weather-ravaged roads (ultra-serpentine Highway 17 is a certified Highway to Hell) to partake in this ballgame. What's more, Mills defeated Aptos in December, 47-36. Ouch. So much for a reward for achieving what they thought would be home court advantage until the CCS Finals this weekend. At least, the latest prediction for Thursday is no rain. Yowza.

Typical stunt by the CCS! How about in the boys side- Division 1 - Menlo Atherton the #1 seed has to play at Palo Alto the #4 seed! None of this makes any sense! You work hard all season to get a high seed and then the CCS Administration screws it all up! Come on guys get it right for the sake of the kids!

Not just the kids and their coaches. How about the parents, the students, the bands, the cheer individuals, everyone connected to the team? Brutal.

Why does the higher seed have to play on the road? Is it a league championship thing?

Then you get to sit in that parking lot known as SB Highway 1 all the way from SC to Aptos. GL with that.

that's dumb. how much planning is needed to host a playoff game? seems like every other hs in the country does it with very little issues.
