ANTIOCH ROMPS OVER SAN LEANDRO 48-14

I thought that if San leandro's defense could bottle up Harris they might have a chance at an upset, but when game time rolled around, each time Harris took the ball and hit the line he was thrown for losses of 2,4,2 and 4....BUT, when he would fake a run thru the line and roll to the left, he caught the Pirates trying to target him and he went on to roll up over 240 yards....There were runs of 37,26,52,53,23,14,17 and even a two point PAT and all this took place in the first half after the Panthers ran up a 36-14 lead.
Harris has to be one of the quickest starting backs around in his second step, the guy is hitting high gear, slippery, evasive, breaking tackles and he would have had some long run TD's, but very quick San Leandro backs were able to run him down...Now San Leandro would have had a third TD in the second quarter, but the Antioch defense, after a five yard penality against the Pirates who had their backs against the wall at the two, buckled down and pushed the Pirates back to the 17 where SL ran out of gas and after that never threatened again....
At times, it appeared that the speedy San Leandro backs were going to break out, but the defense came up with timely stops and last minute tackles to save the day.

1. More Antioch-San Leandro game.....The pirates took the opening KO and the first set of downs went no where and SL went to punt but fumbled the punt and Antioch recovered...Antioch bergan their driver on the 37, but a 10 yard penalty pushed them back, but then Harris went to work, first with a six yard gain, followed by a 37 run, breaking tackles in the process and pass from ther QB to Wilson for a17 yard TD set the tone for the game....
2. last week, Miliptas apparently pushed the Panther line all over the place, but in this game, Antioch stood their ground although SL broke thru the left side of the defense a number of times for big gains that came to nothing.....Antioch's O and d have good size, but SL 's O and D were undersized, but they made up for it with desire and commitment..
3. If Harris would have stayed in the game, there is no telling what knid of a score would have taken place.....With out Harris, the game would have been close, despite Antioch's speed, so the line both O and D need big time work, or they will be in for some surprises when league play begins...
