Clay,
I just watched IMG beat a good Desoto team. IMG has 7 kids 6' 6" and taller...
nobody on the team shorter than 6' 1"....
They recruit from all over the country...tuition and housing is between $70K and $75K...
the top three boys teams in the nation are what I call this model...
Montverde, IMG and Oak Hill Academy...
are there any girls schools in the top 25 that are doing this?

IMG's girls' team was in San Diego, and is not close to that level.

In the past, Riverdale Baptist was that kind of school, though obviously not with those facilities. Then again, no school is like IMG, which recruits elite athletes in all sports and has a campus, curriculum and schedule designed for competitive athletes.

New Hope Academy of Maryland is pushing for that kind of status (likely without the fancy weight room), and some of the prep schools (Westridge out of North Carolina) do the same, but with 19-year-olds on the roster.

Nothing out west, though ...

Funny you mentioned Westridge ...from NC...they just beat SE Raleigh ...
52 to 45...you might want to start looking at Westridge ....what do you mean with 19 years olds....do they hold kids back...so they can play an extra year

Not just facilities the IMGs and others have 10-12 trainers who know their stuff... so huge staff of Athletic Performance specialists

Exactly ... they will have a 10th grade transfer reclassified as a 9th grader.

Clay I saw on another post that Westridge can not be in top 25 because they
reclassify...would you let them in the WCJ if they asked and paid to be in it....
I didn't see them at Nike TOC....just wondering...btw... IMG, Montverde andd Oak Hill Academy all lost in the last three days:)

I don't think we would let them in the WCJ. It would be like letting a prep school in (like Prolific Prep on the boys' side) and it's just not fair to have older kids.

Clay wouldn't you have to reject their WCJ application because the CIF schools wouldn't allow CIF schools to play them...I just am assuming Westridge is not in a state federation. Also interesting Title IX has let them in...
I remember reading Malcom Gladwell]s book Outliers...where he tracked how just being born a few months after a cut off in kids hockey made this huge difference in the advantage the older kids had...I have seen research all over the place on how this effects kids later in life and how kids ending up doing... but this is different we are talking about school hoding back...what 8 or 9 graders...
and hmmm...guess what that school gets an extra year of tuition $$$$

Westridge BTW still rolls on undefeated...So if they finish undefeated they can't be the National Champion correct?

Westridge is playing in a bracket with similar schools at Title IX. They would not be able to play against a lot of teams because their state associations would not allow it.

They play by different rules and really aren't a high school team (just like prep schools). If they wanted to be nationally ranked, they know that they have to quit reclassifying.
