Berkeley was seeded 7th in Norcal Div 1. They now are in the final playing Crespi, rated 6 in the state.
When Berkeley started its run it was rated 130 in State. The Jackets knocked out 2 seed Dougherty in sections, (ranked then 61) and lost to Monte Vista. In Norcals they upset 2 seed Jesuit (ranked 41) 3 seed Monte Vista (now ranked 61) and 5 seed Menlo Atherton (ranked 53). Berkeley is now ranked 87 in the State and surely is heading better.
This is their first shot at a state championship since 1924. Great story no matter how it ends, but lets hope it gets better for Norcal.
