Analy plays nobody. They would get drilled by 40 by most SJS teams up here.http://www.pressdemocrat.com/sports/4646871-181/benefield-why-other-coaches-dont?gallery=4627906

That whole area is suspect in terms of competition.Their average opponents state rankings is 695! And the paper says they're the best the Empire has? I beg to differ.
Newmans the only team who plays real comp preseason. That whole area is suspect in terms of competition.
But I agree with you on Analy. They are mediocre, playing subpar teams.
Idk about remote, but 2 years ago is 2 years ago. Its a down year for a lot of teams up here but a few still manage to do a little damage outside our "remote area" lolAnaly did best Pitt 2 years ago... Not bad for a small town program. They are a good team this year again, not a lot of quality teams up there for them to play in league or the Redwood Empire. It's a very remote area as we all know.
Analy has a nice program in a very poor league. Terrible pre-season schedule. They have produced some nice local players of recent and represented well. Last year they beat El Ceritto, Acalanes, and played state champ Campo closer than most did losing 62-48 in NCS Finals I believe. Or maybe it was Semi's…. I forget. In any event Nemwan is the best team in the RE this year. Better schedule and better players along with coaching. But I don't want to bash on Analy. For what they have the program has done
Only negative thing o would say about Analy is their preseason schedule. With that said, the Press Democrat is clueless when it comes sports, especially football. What sealed it for me was when they came out with their All NBL team. It basically became a participation award. They dont rank teams based on strength of schedule. They pick teams they wanna hype up and certain players they give more attention to than others. There definitely is a bias against a certain team that everybody loves to hate.

Guru, the PD is notoriously bias towards Newman and Monty. I am surprised they gave Analy that type of ink........1...CN didn't "drop down" to D4. that's their proper division. they "moved up" to have a shot at a state title game. Now that D4 has a state title they are back where they belong. Don't forget they lost by FORTY in the sections last year to Campo. D4 is right where they should be. Analy and Rancho should be counting their blessings that CN and Marin catholic went back to their proper division. Central Catholic based on the fact that they have won 3 straight D4 SJS sections are required to move up. If CN or MC had won 3 straight NCS sections I would have absolutely no problem if they were moved up to D3.
2....Analy's schedule is WONDERBREAD SOFT. Analy trailed Maria Carrillo 14-0 before rallying to win 28-14 earlier this season. Cardinal Newman was upon Carrillo 47-0 5mins into the 3rd before pulling their starters and coasting home.
Analys big out of conference games were against Carrillo, Montgomery and Casa Grande....YEESH!!!! :-(
3...The Sonoma County League is THE WORST ATHLETIC LEAGUE IN CALIFORNIA (all sports).....trust me...as someone who lives up here an see it year around...its quite frankly embarrassing at how bad it is. So all the stats and records they do have to be taken with a grain of salt.
4...The PRESS DEMOCRAT is clueless. Kerry Benefield is a "feel good" writer who writes human interest/fluff pieces and has no clue about the actual games. Some of the pieces she has written over the last 2 years (about football and basketball) has made me angry at times from the lack of actual knowledge behind them. DONT pay attention to her stuff.....
Remote area lol. I love it mshNASTY!
LOL Folsom is remote!?Like the Bay Area isn't a big circle. North of Santa Rosa is Remote but Santa Rosa connects to the 80 and Petaluma take you to Vallejo and the Golden Gate is like 30 to 40 min from Petaluma without traffic. Folsom is frickin remote.
Dude, take the homerism out.I've been at companies where people quit because they were forced to have the Sacramento area as a territory. Everyone fights over the Bay Area. It's considered a large market in just about every industry. I've never seen anyone fight over Folsom as a territory. Never. I've seen people fight over Santa Rosa.
Dude, take the homerism out.
People are LEAVING the Bay Area. Every person around here fights to stay around here. Sonoma County is way to remote and there aren't any jobs there to support housing prices.
The median family income in Folsom is 110k a year in comparison to 60k a year in Santa Rosa. Trust me, nobody is fighting for Santa Rosa.
Believe it or not, many of the people in this area don't even know where Santa Rosa is lol
LOLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLIf not for Johnny Cash or prisoners no one in the world would have a clue where Folsom is.
Old money. Families have left. Look at the declining enrollments. The proof is there. How can jobs not be there to support housing prices? What the heck is supporting them then? The mortgages get paid somehow.

I have friends there and have been a few times. I have seen that entire area. You do know Rohnert Park is expanding for the first time in years. But you didn't know that.
You should be....Yawn, just about every school in Sonoma County has a multi million dollar field. Some Sonoma County schools now have non toxic cork instead of rubber. No one is impressed by Folsom but you.
You should be....
You have no field in your entire county that competes with this.
We make WAY more money here....
And we don't have a little Tijuana in our city
It was in reference to the demographics in your city. They have changed.Little Tijuana eh? Like say the Mission District or East San Jose of other desirable cities to live in. Just say you don't like Mexicans and get it over with. You went there. I didn't.
Wheres Folsom? I heard theres a lake or something out there...Dude, take the homerism out.
