@ThunderRam, I agree. A game or two a season is not that big of a deal. My post was in response to the idea that a Sacramento-area public school should play a national caliber pre-league schedule that involves as many as four such trips (SoCal, Nevada, Arizona, etc.). A couple of Fridays a semester is just "field trips." Eight days a semester would be too far afield.
As an example, I have no problem with Monterey Trail's schedule. This year there is an away game in SoCal (Paraclete in Lancaster). The team will miss one day of school. Last year it was a missed Friday to go to the Reno area (Spanish Springs in Sparks) and an early release for a Bay Area game against San Ramon Valley. If all three games had been in the same season, it would have seemed like too much. Moderation is all I was saying.
