BIG Folsom, BIG Folsom, BIG Folsom

@ThunderRam, I agree. A game or two a season is not that big of a deal. My post was in response to the idea that a Sacramento-area public school should play a national caliber pre-league schedule that involves as many as four such trips (SoCal, Nevada, Arizona, etc.). A couple of Fridays a semester is just "field trips." Eight days a semester would be too far afield.

As an example, I have no problem with Monterey Trail's schedule. This year there is an away game in SoCal (Paraclete in Lancaster). The team will miss one day of school. Last year it was a missed Friday to go to the Reno area (Spanish Springs in Sparks) and an early release for a Bay Area game against San Ramon Valley. If all three games had been in the same season, it would have seemed like too much. Moderation is all I was saying.

Understood.

ND THE 2014 TEAM PROBABLY WOULD STILL HAVE LOST TO dls BY 3 TDS.

Let it go Raffi. No one on here is going to change their mind on the what ifs of that game that was never played. No need to bring it up at every chance. It is now 5 years later. Both had strong teams that year.

Can you answer me this....

What is Impressive about Folsom Scheduling a 4-7 Chaminade team when PITT plays “The Real CC” 2 years in a row ON THE ROAD?.... How is this some great scheduling accomplishment?....

Why should Folsom get Credit for Scheduling some Idaho team that is is equal to D4 and Below in CA?....

Why do you Folsom fans act like traveling to So cal for the SBG you are playing for is some
Sort of “Voluntarily” Scheduled game you elected to play?.... Its a Playoff game, are you not supposed to do that?....

As far as which Folsom Team is the best.... It is 2018 by a mile.... Back to Back State Champs, more talent, a mobile QB with incredible passing and running numbers, and Both Helix and “The Other CC” were much better talent wise then that Oceanside team....

Plus you have the DLS Factor.... Browning’s teams had their doors Blown off and nothing was changing the next year so Folsom Rule was put in effect to make sure the 2014 Folsom team would avoid DLS and play in a bowl game....

Bennett’s Team willingly went on the road in week 0 to play DLS and lost only 14-0....

I have them 2018-17... 2010.... 2014... 2015.... 2012 and 13....
Check this out. Love JSerra for scheduling this game. This is the same East team that defeated DLS in 2016.

For sure! JSerra defiantly Loaded up their Schedule this year!

They also Scheduled St. Joe's the #1 Team in NJ which they play Saturday in the Honor Bowl in San Diego... And they Play Milton from GA 9/14 at St. John Bosco... They certainly have a Big time Schedule!!!

It will be Interesting to see how they fare through these games, They are trying to compete with MD and SJB so they are doing what they have to do... I don't think they come out of that Unscathed though, from what I know about them right now, QB play is an issue and they have a great RB and a huge line but are very 1 dimensional...

They would really be the Perfect Opponent for Folsom! and being a Wealthy Private School, I am sure they would have no problem traveling to Folsom to Play the #2 Team in Nor Cal.... The East game was on the road so they traveled to Utah....

Just like Folsom reached out to Private School Chaminade for a Game, Folsom should call JSerra, It's a perfect fit for Both Teams and would be an outstanding game for the Players and The Fans!!

Right.... That would be a good game between Folsom and JSerra. And this would have been the perfect year to play them. In a year or so JSerra might be just as good as both SJB and MD. All it takes is one nationally known player to get the ball rolling.

Do you remember a few years ago Sac High traveled to JSerra. I would assume they made Sac travel to them because they're not a NorCal power. I also believe JSerra would have traveled to play Folsom instead of Sac that year. Mannn, I wish that JSerra game with Milton (Ga) could have been out here. I'm hoping that agreement is a home game for both teams. These Georgia boys don't have a problem with traveling either. They always in Florida and Bama. Now I see they're making their way to Cali.

Also, Crenshaw of LA came out to Georgia a few months back and played in a 7 on 7 passing tournament. They played a Georgia team in the championship game @ the Mercedes Benz stadium. This makes me believe Crenshaw is setting something up with a Georgia team in the near future. I'm keeping a close eye on their scheduling moving forward. I love the programs in Cali that don't use excuses to travel. It's all heart that Crenshaw made a way to travel to the ATL.

I am pretty sure that was 2016 when Sac went to JSerra... That would have been Harlow's First year as coach as he took over for Hartigan who but the team from a team that had to forfeit all its TL games because they couldn't compete, to a 7-4 team that beat MD...

Harlow is the one who really got the Transfers going, he is a Very good Coach, with O line being his specialty.... I agree with you if he can score a couple of the 5* type of guys, he can compete with MD and Bosco...

Unfortunately, the Milton game is a 1 off, it is part of the TL vs USA Showcase at Bosco... Whats great is with this game happening, it should open the Door for more GA vs CA games.... I would love to see JSerra or DLS go out there next year and play one of the top teams... GA has very talanted teams and passionate fans, it would be a great experience for all involved!...

Vista Murietta Opened the Season at Colquitt County in 2017 and they are both Public Schools!!... it can be Done!! :)

Coach Harlow is my type of guy. Sounds like he has the mindset of someone who believes in the saying, "if you can't beat'em, join'em." I see him turning JSerra into a serious State power in a few years. Would love to see a Pittsburg vs JSerra match-up.

Yes it is very unfortunate Milton and JSerra are not doing a home and away. And yes it would be great if a Cali power gets an invite to Georgia's Corky Kell's Classic. I've been to a few of these games and they are a bunch of fun. Very knowledgeable parents and fans in the stands for the most part. Would love to see DLS or Folsom from NorCal get an invite. I would also like to see Cen10 or SJB get an invite from SoCal as well. If one of these 4 teams come out here for the CKC I would promise everyone I will get some good footage and post it.

You must be a SoCal guy because most NorCal guys probably didn't know about the VM and CC game. I found out about the game a month after it was played. It probably wouldn't get passed me today. Yes it can be done!!! All this talk about it's not doable is a bunch of rubbish. And like you said, if two public schools can do it most schools can do it.

Good discussion on Folsom

However, I'm a little disappointed in the posts trying to flush out Agent 61 et al. If he/she/nonbinary has not responded yet, that person is more willyly than you are giving credit. 1) with an new coaching regimen, the folsom future needs to be rewritten, 2) 61 et all was a lot smarter than all of us give credit because most posters here fell under his/her/nonbinary spell in past seasons, 3) watch for the spell-binding postings that should slyly tout the strength of Folsom if they should in fact compete well with DLS and 4) 61 et al will avoid getting banned again if he/she/nonbinary is really back!!!.

The vast majority of people on here aren’t Folsom fans and are aware that Folsom has never been on par with DLS. Reading your posts knocking them at every opportunity isn’t going to change those few minds that aren’t aware. The main person you used to try to reach or jab at (G61) is long gone. It really is tiresome.

I agree the subject has been proven and beat to death. Folsom is the #2 team in NorCal and deservedly so. The subject really is tiresome and needs to be put to bed. As far as “G61” he’s alive and well as “pastyfastquick3”. It been about a dozen handles or so since “G61”. I don’t understand it, but whatever blows his hair back.

Might be the last year we see Folsom ranked as high as #26 Nationally. We shall see.

Makes you reconsider the strength of the SFL to be honest. A little overrated. Teams like Granite Bay whining about how unfair it is that they have to play Folsom every year. Yet, MT comes in and beats up Folsom. Perhaps those other SFL teams should take a look in the mirror. Just sayin.

MT is no joke. They beat up on San Ramon Valley earlier this year 48-6 a #4 seed in NCS div 1. The only other team SRV played that beat them like that was DLS

And not just MT, as Edison sure put a scare into them the prior week as well.

Yep, teams with just as many athletes that control the play clock have been a thorn in Folsom's side. Controlling the clock with your offense is key. And Ewing along with his OC Rick are one of a few coaches that use this philosophy against the Bulldogs. Had Edison utilized better clock management they would have beaten the Bulldogs as well. Giving up 40 and scoring 40 sumthing points isn't a winning recipe against the Bulldogs.
