I love to watch for some of the Norcal players in bowl games... Who are some to watch for in the upcoming games? For us up in Grass Valley we have two playing in the Fiesta Bowl:

Tanner Vallejo, True sophomore LB at Boise ST. (Vallejo has 86 tackles, including 15 for loss, three fumble recoveries, one interception and two defensive TD's on the season). He was also named the MWC Championship game Defensive MVP.

Dan Pettinato, Senior DL at Arizona (44 tackles but has 4.5 tackles-for-loss, four sacks, three pass break-ups, two forced fumbles, two fumble recoveries, and one TD on the season).

Also on Boise St is sophomore WR Thomas Sperbeck from Jesuit (39 receptions for 678 yds and 3 TD's)

Also on Arizona is Scooby Wright III from Windsor HS (158 tackles, 89 Solo) He was also awarded the Chuck Bednarik Award.

Who else to watch for?

Thomas Sperbeck (Jesuit) just went off for Boise State against Arizona.
12 catches 199 yards. Wow. Not bad for a HS QB. But you can't teach 4.45 forty speed.

Absolutely shocked LL33 didn't call you out on this

Oops... Cardinal Newman was his HS. Thanks for pointing that out. Vallejo was awarded the Defensive MVP in the game and Sperbeck the offensive MVP..

Jeff Lockie from Monte Vista came in for Mariota for a few snaps in the 4th qtr of the Rose Bowl tonight.

Nate iese (Sheldon) starts on offense for UCLA. Plays tommorrow against K. St

I'm late to the party, but at least he's got one more game.

Tui Talia #55 of Oregon played for Ygnacio Valley and DVC.

I like the new format with the Rose and Sugar bowls as playoffs into the National Championship. I liked watching the bowls before due to the history, but now that the winners play in the big game make it much better.

Bella- I let it slide. Ha ha. Kevin Sierra has always been a good poster and I figured he fat fingered it.
Nice to see all the local studs doing there thing. Just goes to show you how good we got it. WIth Harbaugh going to Michigan and having strong Norcal roots don't be surprised to see BIG BLUE in these neck of the woods soon.

They rotate the semifinals between the 6 bowls.

How in the world did the last couple bowls get in the mix. Rose, Orange, Sugar, and Fiesta. Now two more. Fiesta a late-comer IMO.

Renegades - thanks for the list. I was wondering where James Sample ended up after he left Washington and went the JC route. I'm usually in the know, but my game is slipping a bit as Sample's current whereabouts somehow escaped my attention :)

Thunder- I was thinking the same thing. I turned the Louisville game on and the kid is all over the field. He has really good size. 6"2 200. Tough game for them but he was definitely in on a lot of plays.
