She looked the best I've seen her yesterday -- a little slimmer and very, very fast, but went down untouched in the third quarter with an Achilles' injury. It seemed like an Achilles' tear but the final word will come today after an MRI.

If so, very sad for Brittany, but Danielle Robinson, who did the same thing early in 2016, is back and playing well for Phoenix this year.

Boyd is one of the best players ever to come out of the Bay Area, and hopefully a) it's not a tear, and b) if it is, she regains her speed and explosiveness.

She's definitely out for the season if it's a tear, as recovery time is usually around nine months. The bigger worry is whether she will retain her speed and explosiveness after surgery. Danielle Robinson apparently did, and here's hoping Brittany does too.

posted this a while back, but I saw her almost single-handedly explode the SMS press (the gold standard) at a Campo Shootout. hoping for her full recovery.
