UC Berkeley offered 2018 G McKenzie Forbes of Folsom High School this weekend. This adds to her already impressive list of I believe Tennessee, UCLA, USC, Oregon, Washington, Arizona, Clemson, Texas Tech and many more I can't recall. What is interesting to me is that she plays for a club out of Phoenix? How did none of the dominant California clubs get to her first?

I talked to McKenzie at USA Basketball and her story was this: She was playing for a Sacramento-area club and went to LA for an event. She was watching an Arizona team play and really liked how they were playing, and after they saw her, they approached her about joining.
She and her parents drove to Phoenix for tryouts, really liked the team and stuck with it. Since then, she's obviously been contacted by other clubs, but she's happy with her choice.
She's a good player, a two/three type, I think, and in our brief conversation, well-spoken and intelligent.
