It is I guess, last year we had liberty with a state championship banner with a playoff loss now CVC with their pathetic league showing and a drop down to D2 playoff run. The nanny state will do whatever I guess to make teams feel good.

My point is CalHiSports’ analytics are grossly self-indulgent...as is CIF.

It’s hard to rank a top 50 I calif. I think after 10 it gets really off. Newman at #41 ? Really. I saw that and just immediately dismissed this.

Larry, where would you have put Newman? Would they have beaten CVC? Wilcox? It is a difficult task to rank a CA top 50, especially without actual playoffs and teams playing in lower or higher divisions than other teams they are being measured against. And as everyone says, SoCal is so much deeper than NorCal, they’re going to get the lion’s share of the 50. It isn’t and shouldn’t be 25 & 25.
