Naturally, I was the first spectator in the gym…

Anyway…. Campo is 21-6 after taking down College Park (Pahk if it’s Bahstin) by a 51-45 count in its most recent game.

CVC is 20-7 after blasting Acalanes 57-31 on the same night to set this meeting up.

When the Cougs and the Uglies faced off back in January, the Uglies came from far back to nip the Cougs by a 52-46 score. I think the 4th quarter score was 23-10.

Of course, I’m hoping we can reverse the result this time….

Junior Elijah Perryman leads the Uglies with 14.9 ppg, and adds 5.8 apg.

Senior James Moore is scoring at a 14.1 clip, and both he and Perryman are averaging just over 5 rebounds per contest.

Soph Vince Ellis chips in with a hair under 10 points per game.

Senior Dylan “Diggy” Mansour is the Cougs’ scoring leader at 14.3 ppg, and Junior Gavin Rendle is putting up 11ppg…

Senior center Tim Smith is scoring just a hair under 10 ppg and adds 6.8 rpg, and a TON of hustle and fight. Mansour is 2nd in rebounds with 5.7 rpg. Diggy is also leading the team with a little over 4 assists per game.

This game’s gonna be a ton of fun!

CVC calls time after nearly losing it on the inbounds pass…. 20 seconds. Moore fouled immediately…. gets 2 shots. Makes the 1st…. MISSES the 2nd! Cougs ball, now 3.8 left after ball knocked out…

Rendle hotly-contested 3…. Nope. 57-54, CVC wins.

Went back and watched the end on NFHS. Campo passed up a really good look with maybe 14 seconds left that ended up being a far better chance than the one they got off at the buzzer.

But for Campo to even be on the court with that team is a testament to Dyer's phenomenal work. Talent-wise, Clayton Valley is 20 points better. And they're a well-coached team too! Allocco and his assistants do a very good job. But Dyer is above and beyond.
