The farm boys are loaded this year and plan on spanking some bay area butt

Whats your take on this game ? I'll go with the upset....Sutter 28 -24

I watched the 10/31 Sutter vs Orland game in which Orland led after the first half in a game where neither team played very well. To Sutter's credit they beat a one dimensional, run oreinted Orland team in the second half to win the game, but wasn't Orland supposed to be one of the better teams Sutter played this season?

Campolindo features a passing game that is difficult to stop. Has Sutter faced a good passing team this season? It's hard to handicap a team that hasn't played a difficult schedule. But in Sutter's defense, they need look no further than what happened to El Cerrito last year by a Sacred Heart Prep team nobody thought would win.

Norcalpreps ranked Enterprise #20 in their most recent top 20 poll, but could not find room for an undefeated Sutter. Sutter certainly comes in as the underdog in this game. But with no quality victories over any teams like the past 3 teams (Cardinal Newman, Analy, Marin Catholic) Campo has defeated, its hard to get a read on this team.

Cal Preps is predicting a 35-31 Campo victory on Saturday yet Sutter has allowed an average of less than 5 points per game while Campo is averaging 48. Something has to give. Something tells me Coach Macy and his experience will have the answer in this game and put away a good Sutter team by two scores.

I've only seen Maxpreps highlights of Sutter but from what I've seen Campo puts it on them. Campo has to much size and speed at the skill positions. I think that Sutter vs Cardinal Newman, Rancho Cotate, Analy, Las Lomas, would be a good game. I just don't see them stopping Campos offense at all. Fadelli will go for 200+ and 3+ scores and Campo will go up top to their 6'5 receivers for 3+ scores. I searched online a few weeks back for full game film and didn't find any so highlights is all I have to go off of. They really need to put some stuff online so people not from their area can watch them play.

Campo's offense won't be stopped in Norcal. Numerous teams have been able to run on CAMPO, the problem is when the score starts to get out of hand you have to pass. Las Lomas, Acalanes and DV featured some of the best D1 lineman in the state. Didin't matter. Marin had a great defense. Didn't matter. I've been saying all along to beat CAMPO you have to control the ball and consume the time. I don't think the farm boy will be able to keep up.

When they travel to Los Angleles Campo will get beat by superior athletes.

Good luck to both teams, but going with Campo for reasons mentioned above. They have played a stronger schedule and that passing offense has yet to be stopped.

If there is one thing I know about Sutter football it is that they will be more than ready to go when game time comes rolling around. That is one of the great things about this program, year in and year out they put a great product out on the field. The wing-t that they run is one of the better one's around because they execute flawlessly, and are so deceptive. I think the one thing that they have going against them is the Campolindo looks to be a bit bigger and that might wear on them. Overall though I except a good game I can see the final being 35-21 with Campolindo pulling away in the fourth quarter. I hope I am wrong though good luck Sutter and represent for the NS.

Campo isn't big. They have some tall wideouts that Sutter won't be able to stop. Petite is 6'5 and can jump. There's no one on Sutter who can guard him as Marin Catholic found out. I see this game being a big letdown compared to the Analy and Marin game. Campo but at least 21 points.

I think relative to Sutter they are bigger. Maybe its just the way it looks online, haven't seen either team in person this year so can't really say, just in the highlights I have seen of both, Campo looks bigger and maybe has a little more team speed. As far as a blow out no one really was giving Sutter a chance when they played MC a couple of years ago but they hung tough. I think that game was tied up going to half. Eventually I think they just got worn down, and that will probably be the case this time. Sutter is a scrappy team though and always fun to watch. I have always admired the way they play the game on offense like I said there wing t is pretty good, and it is great watching them fly around on defense going for gang tackles.

I think it will be a fun game to watch. In the end though I really don't think that Sutter even belongs in this division, I think they really are more of a D4 team. All the Ca sections should come together one day and set something up so we have better divisions based on enrollment. Campo has about 2x as many students enrolled as Sutter, and the teams they would be playing from down south if they won would be 3-4x bigger than the school.

You want to see a good wing t offense and a fast hard hitting defense? Come watch aptos play. Except they got hosed by the selection committee. Sutter a good program. But they didn't play any teams like granite bay, st Ignatius, Burlingame and salinas.

Sutter shouldn't and probably wouldn't ever play any of those teams. Why would they? Sutter is a NS D3 team and your talking about D1 teams. I think when you look at the NS they really should move each division down at least one more division as far as state goes. As far as the Aptos thing goes yea it sucks you guys won a section championship and were left out for what you guys think is a lesser team. But I know one thing, we wouldn't be having this discussion if Aptos has a 0 in the loss column.

I think Campo wins by 14pts. 35-21.Campo will be too much to stop for Sutter.although campo has been one of the more successful teams around they never really challenge themselves with any real difficult games. While Sutter seems to seek out marquee games in the preseason.I just feel Campo will win pretty easy. I see a close first half before Campo pulls away in 2nd half.I believe these are the 2 best D3 teams this year but wont be the best game.....Btw what team will the winner play on southern side?

Aptos unfortunately put Granite Bay on their schedule at the wrong time.. Had they not, they would be 13-0 and looking at a State Bid. They should have done what Campo did by scheduling a Napa type SJS team or better yet Cosumnes Oaks.. Leave the top schools in the SFL and DRL alone if your not a D1 CCS top program.

They will play an undefeated El Capitan.

So aptos gets penalized for loss to a sis d1 school two years removed from a state title?in a game that was close going into the 4 th qtr!

Ok. Let's all schedule easier teams to go undefeated and not challenge our kids. I guess it won't matter next year with the changes in the state format.

Paul14!!! How many times are you going to say this? We ALL know that Aptos was a viable pick. Just as SHP and Enterprise. The ONLY team with a legitimate gripe here is SHP!!! Had the CCS not had their crazy way of doing things SHP would be probably sitting in the Regional game. You weren't even the best D3 team in your section, SHP is in all reality!!!! Like I said prior I truly feel for that Aptos team. It is a terrible way of doing things, but the only way for now.

When I watched Sutter play week 1 I got the very distinct feeling they could compete with any team in the SFL that wasn't named Folsom. I was in favor of Sutter for one simple reason, having watched Granite Bay play and having watched Sutter play, I thought there was a good chance Sutter, could beat Granite Bay this season.

They are in a tough game against Campo for two reasons long trip and no chalenges in the regular or post season. Not even Sutter knows how they will respond when they get pushed to the limit. This will be the first time this season every thing doesn't go right, and how fast they respond to controversy and doubt will decide the outcome.

For the record Justin Sienna is a D4 power they beat a St Mary's(Albany) team that a lot of people were high on, El Cerrito fizzled this season, but they had zero issues with their athleticism. I get the feeling Campo's range is what will give Sutter some problems. In turn Sutter's strength in the middle will give Campo some problems.

As long as Sutter can survive the early surge it should be a heck of a game, if Campo gets to far ahead early then it could get ugly.

I'll take Campolindo in a close one. I think Campolindo can do more things to hurt you on offense than Sutter, which can move the ball by run or pass. This game and the D2 game are the best games of the weekend.

THANK YOU!!! No one is saying Aptos isnt deserving. This idea that Aptos got screwed is crazy. Sutter was deserving as well. Some one was going to get left out. I personally dont think D3 schools should schedule D1 schools. If you want to prove you are a top D3 team schedule and beat top D3 schools. I get the idea that you want to play the big schools to prove that you can hang with them but why not just schedule teams you are being compared to come the time they selected the regional games. Sutter didnt go out and schedule terrible teams. Novato and El Cerrito are good programs that were down. And justin siena was a section champ. And I think the big thing with Sutter is they didnt just beat these teams. They demolished them. If your going to schedule these D1 teams you gotta beat them and hope they do well. That 1 loss is definitely the reason they didnt get picked. And they needed Salinas to win their D1 final. That didnt happen oh well lets move on and support these teams from the north because regardless who wins they are going to have their hands full with El Capitan.

Spot on thehookup!!!

It's kinda of dumb to schedule a perennial D1 power like Granite Bay and expect to get a regional bid after you lose to them. It would be very wise to schedule top D3 teams and lower level D1 teams as the "thehookup" mentioned. Once you become a D3 Perennial Power I can see schedule Granite Bay on week zero. But this is when you know you have dudes that can beat GB... That will be a $10 service charge on how to schedule to get a regional bid, Aptos...

I do think it will be close in the first half.

Campo was down to LL by 21 earlier in the season and roared back in the 2nd half to win by 10. LL is really giant on the line and could not run out the clock with a 21 point lead. If Sutter is smaller and not faster they could be in some real trouble early with Campo's 6'5 and 6'1 wideouts. It will be really tough for Sutter but this is high school and anything is possible.

I know Sutter has some size and speed at the reciever positions but since they have a policy of only playing only one way it appears they will nor be used on the defensive side of the ball to help with the Campo recievers. Sutter supporters.....what kind of size and speed do you have at the cornerback positions? This refusal to have your 6"3 speedy recievers only go one way could decide this game.

im not too worried about Sutter on defense. Their DC and assistants are very, very good and will put those kids in a position to win. i estimate Campo's 2nd and/or 3rd receiver will need to have a big game.

i think the question is, if Sutter can hold Campo to under 21 points., can they score more than the other team? we'll see.

Does anyone know specifics on how Campo's defense will match up against Sutter's O? how does Campo's secondary match up with Sutter's receivers?

Campo employs a classic bend but not break defense. They are pretty solid against the run, but as Analy showed, you can have some sucess against their secondary. Generally speaking, Campo has been able to get enough stops early in the game, coupled with scoring 7 points nearly every time they touch the ball, to put games out of reach. My sense is that Sutter will need to move the ball in the air to have a chance to defeat Campo.

Marin Catholic held Campo to their lowest scoring output of the season, befitting a quality defense, and clearly the best team Campo had faced all season. If Sutter can hold Campo's balanced offense from scoring like Marin Catholic did, they certainly have a chance to win this game.

Campo has 5 receivers that can be considered outstanding and it is doubtful Sutter will be able to shut them all down; at least no one has done it so far, this season. If Sutter can't contain either of their 6'-4" receivers, it may be a long night for Sutter; but even if they do, that leaves openings for their other quality receivers to step up.

Sutter hasn't allowed more than 2 TD's in any one game the entire season. It will be interesting to see if the Sutter defense can hold Campo to 2 TD's in the first quarter.

Sutter will get spanked. You go through NCS D3 and you are more than battle tested. (Newman, Analy, and Marin Catholic) Plus its Saturday and weather will be better so passing should not be impacted. I honestly don't see this game being that competitive. Just my opinion. Almost a home game for Campo.

Campo's offense comes back.

42-21.

Now let me say up front that I realize it does not always translate, however here is some food for thought. This senior group for Sutter as freshman went on the road and easily beat Witney, Roseville and Jesuit. As Sophs they went on the road and beat an undefeated Enterprise team and Oakdale team. They have always done well in big games. Now this is all relative and a State Regional play in game is a much bigger stage however a BIG game at any level is a BIG game.
There is a great article on Maxpreps on Campo Tight End and a preview of the game through Campos eyes.

In all fairness that was possibly the thinest class of Frosh WHS has had to date. To be fair frosh record vs. Sutter is 1-2 in the three meetings that have been played....the two losses where against the two, back to back, thinest classes WHS has had.

If they had played this past season WHS was 10-0 scoring 426 and giving up 14 defensivly. Not sure how Sutter would have faired but it was possibly the best class in WHS 10 seasons.

Campo could play with anyone in the SFL this season, except Folsom. They absolutely spanked Napa (as did Clayton Valley), same Napa team who beat Vacaville who has shown to be one of the top programs in the SJS, this year being no exception.

Renegades, I'm going to give you some style points for that one... You do know that the Napa/Vacaville game is a rivalry game? Not taking anything away from Campo or CV but talk is cheap in my book. Whole different terrain playing against a SFL Rocklin team with their starting QB as well as a down Del Oro and Granite Bay team versus a decent Napa team. I think those teams would have fared well against these SFL perennial powers (this year) but I wouldn't bet on them to beat them that's for sure.

Again, when you have a 6'5 receiver than runs like a deer and can make spectacular catches you need a D1 CB who is physical and can jump. Does Sutter have one? If not they will have to doube team him and that's one less player to deal with very effieciient offense. Major match u problem for Sutter. To beat CAMPO your team has to have some serious athletes (El Cerrito last year and De La Salle this year) to beat them.

Let the games begin.

Coach Macy on Maxpreps, stealing a page out of Bill Belicecks book, saying both Flowers #3 and a starting corner #18 are doubtful for this game, Flowers with a shoulder injury and 18 with a groin. Also for added measure points out they are putting their team together with duct tape for this one because they are so banged up. The cherry on top, he says that Fidelli has not practiced all week either. Come on man.. Campo will be at full strength as will Sutter.

Farmair, if you listen or read what Coach Macy has said to the media over the years you would be rightly suspicious of his motives. He has constantly downplayed how good his teams really are; so much so, no one believes him much anymore. Since it is rare any of his players go on to play college football (Petite is the obvious exception this year), I view this as a man who doesn't want to draw attention to how good he and his coaching staff really are.

Unfortunately, three of their four best players are injured. Doubtful CB/RB McNally will play tonight. The others will certainly suit up and give it a go. The biggest concern is team MVP Fadelli missing most of the week. As he goes, so does Campo.

They will be more than ready for what Sutter will bring tonight. Macy would never use injury as an excuse; it might make for a closer game though. I think it will be a one score victory for Campolindo tonight.

14-14. Sutter hasn't been in this position before. CAMPO is battled tested. A very crucial point in the game. Sutter must score.

Campo picks off Sutter in the end zone to stop a drive. Petite playing as is Flowers. CAMPO gets the ball at half and we know how MACY can adjust. Sutter has only once this year.

This post was edited on 12/13 8:35 PM by Trivalley

Campo moving the the ball again to after the touchback. Sutter can't go into the half down 14. Campo in Sutter territory. They must hold.

This post was edited on 12/13 8:37 PM by Trivalley

Sutter holds but trails 21-14. CAMPO will get the ball in the 2nd half. Sutter played some tough defense early but the tide has changed.
