Carrillo came ready to play at home (with a noisy, boisterous crowd) and battled CN to the end. It was still a 9 pt game with 3:30 to play.
It's nice to see a team in the NBL step up to CN and give them a battle. I certainly enjoyed watching the game and being nervous till the end rather than the usual.
Major props to Carrillo and their interim coach Kylie Oden.
I noticed on MaxPreps they are the current 2 seed/ranked team in D3 (behind CN). That's legit and when CN gets pulled to the NCS Open Carrillo will have a definite shot at the section title. (Piedmont will have a say with their 1 man wrecking crew Martinez.)
The NBL girls also has a decent Montgomery team that may make some noise in D2.
Not a bad NBL this year!
