1. Trey Paster 6-foot-3, 190 pounds Buhach Colony

Paster drives on the play well, finds the ball well in the air and has good size to fit the modern day defensive back. He has offers from Arizona, Cal, Fresno State, Nevada, Oregon, San Jose State, UCLA, Utah and Washington.

2. Nate Rutchena 6-foot-3, 197 pounds Monte Vista

Rutchena profiles as a safety who can have middle of the field responsibility, but is also physical enough to come down and make a play. He is a good receiver and has a basketball background. Cal, Air Force, Wyoming and Nevada have offered Rutchena.

3. Dejuan Butler 6-foot-0, 185 pounds Antioch

Boise State, Colorado State, Cal, Hawaii, Howard, San Jose State, UNLV and UCLA have offered Butler, who is a natural corner. He will challenge receivers at the line, but also has the speed to turn and run on deep routes.

4. Justin Anderson 6-foot-0, 165 pounds Menlo-Atherton

He is very good at reading the ball in the air and high pointing it to come down with interceptions. One of the better play makers in the class, Anderson has been offered by Iowa State, Utah, Utah State and Washington State.

5. Asar Alim-Moore 6-foot-0, 184 pounds Folsom

Transferring from St. Mary's to Folsom, Alim-Moore was a two-way contributor for the Rams last year. He is a hard hitting safety who plays up in the box, but has also flashed his coverage range.

6. Elijah Lawson 6-foot-2, 207 pounds Moreau Catholic

The San Jose State commit is a physical presence on the back end of the defense. He is a smooth runner and a big hitter who is a good early commitment for the Spartans.

7. Jalen Apalit-Williams 6-foot-2, 180 pounds Las Lomas

A big hitter who does a good job of creating turnovers, Apalit-Williams has been a fast rising prospect during the spring. He has been offered by Colorado State, San Jose State, Idaho State and Northern Colorado.

8. Jackson Lataimua 5-foot-11, 195 pounds Serra

Though he is smaller than some other safeties on this list, Lataimua is one of the best hitters in the class. He takes good angles to the ball and can make plays out into the flats. He is a Nevada commit.

9. Jayden Davis 6-foot-2, 175 pounds Bishop O'Dowd

Davis tracks plays well and is very physical with receivers at the line. He can line up on the outside or in the box and is a key defender for the Dragons. Air Force, Army, Navy and Nevada have offered Davis.

10. Deven Vanderbilt 6-foot-0, 160 pounds Valley Christian, San Jose

Vanberbilt has good film as a cornerback, but contributes on offense too. He holds up well on the outside, has good speed and can make plays once he gets the ball. BYU and William & Mary have offered Vanderbilt.
