sounds like one team executes and the other doesnt. i guess that could be coaching as well tho
Riordan's talent alone beats average to below average teams easily as we've seen this abbreviated year. Their losses have come to better TEAMS that have been/played together for 2+ years. Don't see losses happening if their core 7-8 players have been playing together for at least 2 years as that comes with familiarity, teammates' strengths and tendencies. The Monroe-Clark team was better. It was clear the offense went through them. Roles were established. This team has too many guys that need the ball. When this is the case, you have disinterested players on the floor making it ideal for teams that move the ball like Campo, Serra, and Mitty to hang an L on them. I hope they can put it together in CCS Open and get some revenge.
I think you meant to say Riordan seniors Rob and Lee, Mor is a junior. Anyway, both teams had a lot of turnovers - just seems Mitty took better advantage of it. I'm hoping to see a rematch in the CCS Finals. While I thought it was coaching too, I think it had to do more with experience. While Riordan does have Seniors in Big Seck and Rob, Mitty has 3 seniors Burriss, Mitchell, Bhandal, which I think ended up making the difference. Bhandal didn't have that crazy game they did last time these two teams met at Riordan, but on the defensive end he completely shut down Rob and Seck. Then he hit a dagger 3 with about 2 minutes to go that essentially ended the game.
Also consider the Mitty coach has been coaching for decades, while Coach Curtain is still relatively new......I think the rematch at Mitty for the CCS Open Championship would be an awesome game to go to.
